Ok since a few people have wondered about this:
How much does it cost to charge a scooter? Less than you might think. Just to run some rough numbers:
The scooter batteries' capacities are reported to be about 8800mAh at 36V. We can convert this to watt hours: 8800 * 36 / 1000 = 316.8Wh
Electricity costs on average of 12 cents per kilowatt hour (ie. 1000 watt hours) in the US. So, the cost of charging one of these scooters from empty is going to be something like:
(316.8 / 1000) * 12 = 4 cents
It's probably a bit more than that since chargers are not 100% efficient. And, the cost of electricity varies between different locations, so take this with a grain of salt. But it's safe to say the electricity cost of charging these things is not something to worry much about.
Does anyone wonder how much Uber and Lyft monitor each others' surge activity? If Uber is surging 2x, and Lyft is at 1x, there is a huge opportunity for Lyft. They've got more drivers there (otherwise they'd be surging) and could just surge anyways at like 1.5x, undercutting Uber and raking it in.
It's too bad you can't buy and sell Uber and Lyft rides. Imagine the arbitrage opportunities...
That, and they can just deactivate whatever drivers participate. It wouldn't be hard for them to figure it out. 😀
Read what you are signing, people!! Don't just skim it and assume it's in your favor because the dude asking you to sign it seems cool. And if you don't understand it, don't sign it!
Best bet is a taxi. Uber, Lyft, etc. don't take cash.
Here is a little more about it. Not a lot of details though.

What are the ride discounts like? Do you know?
For real. And if wall street is insane, silicon valley is a whole other level of insanity. The money VCs throw at companies which are barely more than ideas is outrageous. And they just keep shoveling money in to companies like Uber and Lyft which are losing money hand over fist.
Cool, so I'll lose less money with Lyft than with Uber? Good to know.
Hi, sorry to hear we were a bit off on our estimate. I will have our team look into the rates we have for Winnipeg to make sure they are correct.
Once you enter your destination address you should be presented with options for Lyft or Lyft XL.

There isn't a great answer to this, unfortunately.
You're probably ok. But it is not guaranteed. A driver might accept your ride ahead of time, but even then they can still cancel. However as long as you are not in the boonies you are not like likely to have a problem.
I have never had a problem with scheduled rides, but I know people who have.
I recommend you leave a little extra time in case you have to make a last minute ride request.
Yes. The estimates on RideGuru are only estimates, and assume normal traffic. If traffic is bad the fare will increase. You may also be affected by surge pricing depending on how many drivers are available at that time.
Hi Nani,
It is in rupees. All estimates on RideGuru are in the local currency.
I am not sure why you got a dollar sign. I will have our team look into it. For what it's worth here is what I got for this route just now, in case it helps:
Happy traveling!
That's weird. I'm not in chicago so I can't verify, but they say it is available in "select cities", and that they are expanding it to more cities in 2019. So it would be weird if they were shutting cities off from it.
Hmm guys I'm seeing a pattern.
Do you have those links? I'm curious to read more about it.
I'm very skeptical that they will be flying passengers by 2023, no matter what they say. That ain't far off.
Check out this thread https://ride.guru/lounge/p/what-are-the-driver-requirements-for-uber-whats-involved-in-the-background
2 ppl + luggage will be fine in an Uber X (unless you have a really exceptional amount of luggage). Have fun!
Prices are per vehicle. So yes, split between 6 for XL.
