Not that its fair but this may not be a job for all women. Uber and Lyft cant predict how these men will act but once they are reported for disgusting behavior yes they should be deactivated on both apps. Why do you think women didnt drive taxi cabs? It can be a dangerous job. Some men have no respect and are absolutely disgusting. Why would you think this would never happen when young women are driving with no one to protect them. Did you really think as a woman you wouldnt come in contact with some of these degenerates? No its not your fault, no its not fair, yes it sucks, but to think there wouldnt be issues as a woman driver is being naive. Women have been harassed and treated unfairly by some men forever. Why would this be any different? They are alone in a car with you, you have nothing or no one to protect you, you may not even be able to prove what they did. My daughter turned 21 a few months bsck and asked me about driving. I told her over my dead body. Drive for Amazon delivering packages, take a friend with you or the dog (they allow it). I know exactly what could happen. So to say "they as women were thrown to the wolves I disagree". Is Uber and Lyft wrong for not deactivating these idiots, yes. Should they need to tell these women what there findings were absolutely, should the cooperate fully with police absolutely. Claiming privacy issues is BS they commited a crime or acted inappropriately they should have no rights.
As a woman driver for Uber and/or Lyft do you feel you were "thrown to the wolves" as these women do?

I have heard from the passenger-side women feel rather vulnerable using taxis/ubers and would love to feel safer.
Do we need a women-only ridesharing service? From women for women.
I read one of the tips for female passengers to never sit in the passenger seat or even on the RIGHT side of the car. The driver can drive up to a wall (on the left) and attack.
So sit in the back, towards the left of the car.
And that's coming from a guy named "shady."
What women who feel threatened need is not a woman only rideshare platform, but only ride drivers with high rated drivers, say 4.88 and higher. (typical driver is 4.8)
Request a ride, driver accepts (male or female driver),
look at rating, 4.88 or higher, let the driver give you a ride.
4.87 and lower cancel and re-request
That's a good idea.
I am rather new to the business and am not too aware of the actual difference in the quality based on the ratings yet. Since they're all so close to each other I'd almost assume that the quality between 4.5 and 5 is the same. Do you believe riders are aware of these differences?
Passengers are not aware of the splits. Just like you just assumed 4.5 - 5.0 is good, well let me tell you. Here is from one of my recent ride, was driving a woman, she was talking about how she just wants a safe ride and she would not accept a driver with a rating lower than 4.00. I asked her how many times did she have her ride request accepted by a driver rated 4.00 or below, she said never, she assumed she just was lucky with good drivers (she rides very seldom). She, just like you , and like any normal person would think a 4.00 is not a horrible rating. Let me open up a secret. The reason she never got a ride request accepted by a driver with a rating of 4.00 or lower is because when drivers fall to 4.6 or just under that, they are at risk of being canned form the platforms, so there are very very few drivers out there with such a low rating.
Thus, to answer your question, 4.5 is considered Red line to even remain a driver on the platform, average drivers are around 4.8. That is w…

Now, I realize many drivers who are lower rated are probably rated low unfairly by bad riders, especially on pools and shared rides, basically for reasons outside driver control, but for you to distinguish a good from potentially bad driver you can use the 4.88 - 5.00 as getting a good ride, and anything lower potentially lower quality ride. I know this is unfair to drivers, but that is the best advise I can give you at the moment. I hover around 4.93, and all it takes is a few low marks to sink me, that is why I would immediately stop doing pools if my ratings sink, until I can bring them back up. So for all passengers out there, if you had a good ride in a clean car, rate the driver 5.00 by default, that is what we drivers (most drivers) do to passengers, we just want to click "5" and move on to next ride request.
