As a driver if you were given $10,00.00 to purchase Lyft stock or keep the money what would you do?

    This is happening.
$1,000 to drivers with over 10,000 rides, $10,000 to drivers with over 20,000 rides
I received an email from Lyft telling me that I will be getting $1,000 into my account on  March 19th. Happy St. Patricks Day to this Irishman! 😆

Right,  it's all about whether you actually want to invest in them or not.

Will Lyft and Uber be able to beat the rest of the market?  Are they the fast growing tech companies that will see double digit gains? who knows?

If you ask me, probably not. When buying stock, always think the growth potential.

    20,000 RIDES?!

Lyft set aside 5% of the shares for directors and some employees as well as for drivers who as of February have completed 10,000 rides on its platform or are serving or served on a driver advisory council. The company also will pay cash bonuses to those long-standing drivers, including $10,000 for those who completed at least 20,000 rides.

This would be really awesome if they followed through. I wish I could get 10k but I am at least happy some of the drivers are getting a piece of the pie!

No way they will do this. It is a publicity stunt. Since when does Uber or Lyft give away anything for free to their drivers...

There will be a catch if they do go forward with it. Neither Uber or Lyft give anything away without a catch especially to drivers. Drivers are a mearly a means to an end. Probably have to sign on to drive for them indefinitely accepting every ping and not cancelling a single ping 12 hrs per day 7 days per week. Not only do you have to do this but your children will when they are old enough and when your childrens children are old enough they will have to do it also. Especially when their autonomous vehicles are not ready when they expect them to be.

The companies haven’t said how they’d select the drivers afforded access to IPO shares, but they likely would focus on longtime, active drivers, and, at Lyft, the plan is to award drivers who have logged at least 10,000 rides

Soooo... $1 extra per ride. $10k seems like a lot but when in reality it's not that huge of a bonus compared to the work they put in for the company. Nice surprise for those who get it though!
