As it is mandatory for drivers to rate the pax immediately after the trip ends, they should apply the same rule for pax, make it mandatory before they can order a ride. More Ratings will translate into more potential tips as well.

Yes. OR. Only require and allow rating on only 10% of rides or something. That way when pax is asked to rate they will put a bit more thought into it since it doesn't usually happen.

It's mandatory for us or we can't get a new request, it should be the same with the pax, rate or they won't be able to request a ride.

Uber says they  can do nothing about it and to be honest half of their customer service you can’t even understand what they’re saying. A customer  left their sunglasses in my car And I picked up a passenger after that I thought they were her sunglasses I run back after her to give them to her and she’s like those aren’t mine and I always double check but the sunglasses were black ,my seats are  black and my carpet is black so they blended in Do you think the customer would’ve realize that he didn’t have a sunglasses at the airport. I didn’t even get a call from them I reported it and then I went through the whole process and I told them they could have my phone number they contact me and they said they were never coming back to my state  so if they can’t get their sunglasses back then happy early Christmas which there are $450 sunglasses.I told them I would mail them to them if they would like to or had any friends out here that lived out here that can mail them to them and they said no. I don’t know why I feel guilty because it’s not my fault because I always go above and beyond and did follow the protocol but I’m tired of the whole mask and vaccination thing. I think they should be allowed to upload their vaccination card if they don’t wanna wear their mask and I’m tired of being rated low because we have to enforce it when it’s not even our  policy. I was at five stars for six years never received a 4:3,2 or 1 And I notice I went from a five star rating to 4.86 rating because of the two and I receive so I’m wondering if it was from the people that lost her sunglasses or what it was because I didn’t deserve that I didn’t do anything wrong and I told Uber that and they’re like we can’t tell you who it was or what they said and I’m like how is that fair because you’re taking their word over mine and I told him and I’m just gonna start rating people lower If they start to argue with me or want to bring seven luggage is in my car when they know that my car is just an Uber x not a UberXL.Also these customers know the protocol they know they have to wear a mask they can’t sit sit up front at all and the windows cracked .I even turn on my AC when the windows are cracked that if there’s a heat advisory I will them up or pollution advisory. So I’ve been pretty mad at Uber and I’ve been driving for a very long time at a platinum level and it’s super any that I have a2 rating and I told Uber They rated me at two but they didn’t write anything about me all I remember is having somebody that was intoxicated so they could press the wrong button but they said they have to rate you within that 24 hours so whoever you get is who rated u and  you have to go through it. I don’t know how do you guys feel about it I think we should be able to know and contest our rating .I was actually very upset and hurt because I don’t like liars and I go above and beyond but that’s gonna stop because I’m gonna start rating  people how they really deserve to be rated

I feel like there should be a high low elimination based on number of rides rated.

    Exapmle:

104 ratings, top 2 and bottom two removed from the avg.

    206, top 3 bottom 3 removed.

    308, top 4 bottom 4 removed.

This way the out lying lows like the random 1 star accidentally rated or someone being shiesty for no reason would be taken out but if you are consistently getting low scores it would only be removing some.

Personal example. I have 600+ rides. 350ish rated

    Of those 350 i have 3-4star 4-3star 1-1star. All others are 5 leaving me at a 4.96 overall

If at 308 the top 3 and bottom 3 were removed

    I would have 339-5star 3-4star 2-3star and 0-1star ratings.

This would adjust my rating to 4.98

This factors in that of 350 rated rides i only recieved 8 non-5star ratings or 98% of my ratings were 5star

In contrast a driver that recieved say

    310-5star 20-4star 15-3star 4-2star 1-1star

    Rated 4.81

    Would become

    307-5star 20-4star 15-3star 2-2star 0-1sta

    Rated 4.84

Still reflecting a lower average but taking into account that the 2 and 1 star ratings were still outliers.

I do think it is good to have a rating system. I know some people are all up in arms about it and say it is dumb but I think it is helpful for Uber/Lyft to weed out the bad eggs. I do think they should weed out bad passengers like they do with drivers but they probably will never do that.

I like that there is some standard verbiage you can choose if you want - kind of dumb but I never have time to type out my thoughts.

I definitely take the Lyft rating system over Uber. Uber allows the pax to retaliate with a low rating and won't allow the driver to change theirs. Lyft's 24 hour period for ratings with a default to 5* if not rated is fair. Probably the only thing Lyft has over Uber.

I think there needs to be more awareness around the meaning of the stars. Maybe they can give a little description for what each star level looks like? Some people think 3 stars are good when it fact that is terrible.

I agree completely, pax think a 4 star rating is good, we're not in high school where a B+ is good. It's because UBER doesn't educate the pax in any shape or form, pax don't even know we'll get deactivated for 4.60 or below. Very high bar for the driver, why don't they kick all pax off the platform at 4.60 as well?

Ya, I just don't think there is much awareness around what the stars really mean. I mean it is kind of dumb that 5 stars is good but 4 stars is bad. I mena why even have 1,2,3 stars if you are going to make 4 bad! Just a stupid system if you ask me

Uber rating system gives all the power to the rider, Lyft's is much better, the only thing that's better on the Lyft platform.

It's messed up that it's a five star system. And you are required to have such a high rating. But pax knows this. So basically anything below a 5 star rating might as well be zero.

It should just be a thumbs up/down system IMO.

Yep, pax hold you hostage. I like the Lyft rating system iver uber by 10000%, a lot fairer a lot more transparency.
