  Why would you be that driver?  You get fired and the records stick with you.

   6 years ago in  If a driver uses Uber as a rider do you tip the driver or do you feel driver shouldn't expect tip as a courtesy?

  I think some of these drivers are pretty disgruntled and their mindset goes to an unhealthy place. Saying, "if no one else is tipping, why should I?" 

  It's hypocritical and they are playing the victim card.

  You should care. For two reasons:

  1) Drivers will pass you up. This means it'll take longer for you to be matched up with the driver. Do you see your app spinning upon request? That means drivers are ignoring your requests and they are being handled like hot potatos.

  2) Uber started suspending and banning users for having low ratings.

  Uber passengers in Australia and New Zealand will get banned from the app if their rating drops below 4 stars

  Well, if people need a ride, they need a ride. I think you are to assume they know the risk and have important places to get to. (e.g. go help your grandma who's at the hospital who just lost power!)  The point here is that there are people in need and we can help them out.

  As for the drivers, hey, if ther's 10x surge, I would go out there. Ha!

  UberX!  The cheapest option with capacity to carry up to 4 passengers.  No brainer, right?

  The only cheaper options in the USA would be UberPool or UberPool Express, but neither can take four passengers.  Only 2.  So there's your answer right there!

  Oh, man. 4.50 isn't good?  Mine is 4.34.  I thought I was a courteous person.  I mean, I feel like I do all these things. I tip, and I try to be considerate.
