I don't know if maybe this is impacting you but I have noticed that Uber Eats will prioritize giving orders to drivers who have lower earnings for the week. If by turning on UberX you are making more money over the course of the week perhaps you have fallen down the " ping prioritization list" that Uber has created??

I would say it is worth it so long as you get a relatively cheap vehicle. Keep in mind UberXL is mainly used as a college bus (low tips) and airports trips with tons of suitcases being piled in your trunk.
Interesting, this will help with the whole "he said/she said" stuff at least.
I find people dont tip much anymore so that sucks but the surge is pretty good...
Have you tried logging into the Uber app and seeing if there are any drivers in your area? Usually there is at least 1, even in small towns.
Have you checked using the RideGuru Fare Comparison Calculator? It will tell you every service that is available for your desired route.

If anyone does give you a hard time you should report them to Uber immediately! We are not allowed to discriminate so if you feel discriminated against, I would contact Uber and tell them of the driver's behavior.
