Since September my booking fees are different for each trip. Before Sept 2018 it was 2.00 for Uber X and 2.50 for XL. Now I am seeing 2.20 for Uber X and 2.60 for Uber XL but its only on some trips not others. Contacted Uber last night as to why this is happening. The message I got back said "I cannot answer your question but I will forward it to someone who can". It's been 24 hrs no answer.
Have you noticed Uber is charging different prices for booking fee?

Yes, I have had this happen to me before where the base fee (of which Uber takes 100% of) has changed on me. At first I thought the rate went up from 2.00 to 2.10 and I assumed it was a change that was simply not announced. I called BS but since this is Uber, I just let it go and kept driving.
Then I realized that the rate went down to 2.00 again...or did it? I saw it in my earnings reports that most rides were 2.10 but some were still showing up as 2.00. I too wrote Uber but never heard back.
Later, the rate was officially updated to 2.10 (this is Boston btw). I heard another driver tell me that Uber rolls out features and new pricing in phases so it must have been where I actually performed the pickups. I have yet to see a pattern but I decided to not give it too much thought.
I dont trust Uber at all. Probably taking more & hope we dont notice. I still didnt receive an answer back from 'the team that could answer". It happened all weekend. I drive in Philadelphia and Bucks County. Some trips are 2.00 others are 2.20 no pattern.
Had another trip over weekend (Uber X) Uber got 49% of fare I got 51%. I havent had the chance to question that yet. I am sure they will send a scripted answer sent by a computer with a persons name so I think someone real addressed my question. I so cant wait for the day I no longer need to drive for these idiots.
Uber is mega secretive about the earnings and how much they take now. Its shadiness is at a stratospheric level.
The even created a new earnings page that outright tells us they’re taking too much commission yet they ignore our questions. The RideshareGuy has published many articles and proof yet Uber hasn’t responded.
One example is the way they still pay the drivers for the base fare and when Uber figures out a way to charge riders more (based on shady unposted rates), they keep all the extra. This is screwing both drivers and passengers. And here we sit, all powerless. FCC? Attorney general? Can anyone do anything?
They are absolutely one of the most dishonest company ever. They lie cheat, and steal from the drivers and riders. It would be great if the drivers would all refuse to drive on a few busy nights and then have the riders not request rides at all on a few nights. Unfortunately we all cant do that because we need the money and riders dont seem to care. As long as riders get a cheaper ride than a taxi they are happy. Most Riders are not concerned about the drivers being ripped off. I had another ride Uber X a few nights ago that Uber only made .39 less than I did.

It would be great if the drivers would all refuse to drive on a few busy nights and then have the riders not request rides at all on a few nights. Dara puts these commercials out (obviously paying a fortune for them) saying Uber is making things better and easier just more lies and wasting more money that could go to drivers. The new drivers app (more $ wasted) is no better than the last one. There is no way drivers helped with that app. What drivers would've agreed to the new surge? The promotions they offer are unobtainable unless you are out there driving 12hrs per day. Pool and express pool are awful. I just read an article where Dara wants to eventually increase the amount of pool/express rides. Of course that makes Uber more $ but not the driver. Thankfully I only need to drive until I am done Nursing School. There are drivers out there who leased or bought cars to drive full time, its their only way to support themselves and their families. Uber will never change on their own. Someone needs to step up and do something about them. Thanks for responding.

If you live in NYC it going to be costly to use a ride sharing app, YELLOW or green taxi or your neighborhood car service. GOD BLESS THE NYC DRIVERS UNION WHO PUT COMMUNIST UBER ON THEIR KNESS AND TO THE DRIVERS WHO COMMITTED SIUCIDE BECAUSE OF UBER AND THE COMMIE PINKOS WHO ABUSED DRIVERS BY NOT AT THE VERY LEAST TIP 15%. DO EXPECT TO SEE MORE MASS TRANSIT RIDERS AND A UPSWING IN METROCARDS.
Weird, I haven't see this. Could it be bookings made in advance vs on demand?
I had 2 people that are fequent passengers of mine I asked them if they did anything different. They said they request like any other time. I checked to see if ot's on surged rides, their is no pattern. Going to send Uber another message. I've never had a response like I got last night. Now that they are aware I noticed it curious to see if it continues.
