Lyft Now Accepts Cash as a Form of Payment!

Up until this point, rideshare companies only accepted debit/credit cards as a form of payment. Unfortunately, that created a transportation barrier for almost 7.1 million US households who are “unbanked” or have limited access to traditional financial services. Lyft, in an effort to be more inclusive, recently announced a new way to pay for Lyft rides: with cash.

A driver’s acceptance rate plays an important part in their overall success as a rideshare driver. Lyft drivers’ acceptance rates are based on the percentage of ride requests a driver accepts and completes. Uber has officially launched their new Uber Comfort Electric service in over 30 U.S. cities! Uber first announced plans for the new ‘Uber Comfort Electric’ service about 8 months ago, sharing that through a partnership with Hertz, drivers would be able to rent a Tesla for use on the Uber platform.
