How to Delete Your Lyft Account

Looking to delete Lyft from your phone? Follow this step by step guide to learn how to delete your Lyft account.

First it is important to note that while Lyft allows you to delete your account, they do reserve the right to retain certain personal information after your account has been deleted.

Here is a list of the things Lyft will still retain after you cancel your account:

At the moment, there is no way to get Lyft to delete this information, however, we all did agree to these terms when signing up so we cannot really complain!

If you would still like to move forward with deleting your account, you can follow the below steps.

How to Delete Your Lyft Account

1. Contact Lyft's Support Team

First, open up Lyft's Help Center.

When you arrive at Lyft's help Center page, you will see the following form:

2. Fill out the Form's Details

Fill out the required fields (Email, Subject, Phone Number) and choose the "Profile and account settings" option under the “What can we help you with?” field.

Then, click on “Delete my account or unsubscribe”.

Finally, click on “Delete my account”. Note: if you would like to also unsubscribe from Lyft's emails, follow these same steps but instead of clicking on "Delete my account" in this step click on "Unsubscribe from emails". Even if you delete your Lyft account you will still get promotional emails unless you also "unsubscribe"! Also Lyft notes that the process of unsubscribing you can take up to 10 days.

3. Explain why you would like to Delete your Lyft Account

Once you have clicked on “Delete my account.” you will be brought to the below form. Fill out the “Description” field with an explanation of why you want to delete your account. You can keep this simple! After you have filled out the "Description" field, click the checkbox next to “I’m not a robot” and then click “Submit.”

After you submit your form, Lyft should get back to you fairly quickly with a response. If you do not hear anything after a couple days, send an email to support@lyft.com to inquire!
