Lyft X SpotHero : Find Cheap Parking in your City

Lyft is known for providing rides all around the country whether its via car, bikes, or scooters. Now, Lyft is even providing a new helpful feature for users who choose to drive their own car to their next event. In a partnership with SpotHero, the Lyft app can now help users find parking spots in their city.

SpotHero is a parking reservation app, that let’s users find and reserve parking spots at airports and thousands of garages across North America. SpotHero’s mission is to empower people to get everywhere, easier – ending the struggle of driving in circles watching the minutes tick down before your meeting or big event!

According to Lyft “Parking reservations can be made the day-of or even months in advance (pending each garage’s availability). You can enter the selected garage anytime after your start time, and leave anytime before your reservation is over. Lyft will even give you a heads up before your time expires so you can extend your stay as needed.”

How it works

• Open your Lyft app and look for the steering wheel icon in the bottom right corner. 
• Tap ‘Parking’ to see the closest available parking spots. Set your entry and exit time, and Lyft will show you the cost of each spot before you book.
• Pay with your card that’s already on file in the Lyft app. Use the in-app instructions and QR code to park. 
• Extend your stay in the app if needed. It’s that easy!

This new Lyft feature can be used to book hourly parking or to reserve parking in advance for the days you commute into work. 

Lyft Parking is now available in 16 major markets including San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, and New York with more cities launching soon!
