Uber, Lyft drivers would need lit signs under Jersey City rule
Will this really help in eliminating fake drivers? I would think criminals would simply premeditate their attacks and can just … -
What's the grossest thing you have found in a Lyft or Uber?
-
Do passengers know that Uber often takes half the fare?
Sadly, the drivers are starting to accept this fact as a daily occurrence, but I feel the need to share … -
Why do Uber and Lyft drivers become so angry when riders don't tip?
I am actually a driver myself. I agreed to all the rates and how much I get paid when I …
“Where you are registered with Uber” VS Where your car is registered and have a plate from” are different, aren’t they?
Or are they not? I don’t know. I thought you can have a plate in one state and still be assigned (by Uber) to another state. Isn’t that the crux of the question?
Did you explain that your app froze?
Not that it really helps, the 1-star rating will drop off after like 500 rides. A few months for some drivers.
Umm, no, I don't have any experience, but you gotta call your bank and stop those withdrawals, man.
This is why I hate providing bank account information. There is less mechanisms in place to stop vendors from taking your money. This is why there is a huge benefits in using credit cards where you can.
No, not guaranteed. However, there are more drivers than you think out there at 5:30-6:00, because of airport pickups and drivers wanting to make a few bucks before morning rush).
It really depends on your location. You in the city? Or near a large one? Shouldn’t be a problem.
Did you suggest to everyone that we should have weapons?
It sucks for the driver because we are pretty much guaranteed to get a 1-star rating. Ouch.
No, Uber gives no care when you complain. It takes 500 rides for it to disappear from your records.
I was thinking the same thing. It mocks things like how we need to have $4.69 Fiji water and a phone charger or the customer goes ape.
To wait until you are about to drive by, and they jump on your hood.
Then steal your smartphone and your Uber and Lyft stickers off of your windshields. Then grab your dashcam, steal your Febreze bottles, throw your blanket in the puddle, break your phone holder, and drive your 2008 Honda Focus off the cliff.
Yes, it's a huge security risk. We are targeted constantly.
Doesn't this make sense more than robot cars driving human lives around? I am all for it.
Open container laws, I guess. I find beer cans, bottles, red plastic cups, and nips all the time in the backseat.
Always makes me nervous that I would end up getting busted for it.
The driver may not get dinged on such a short trip. They'd probably be put back in the queue for such a short trip. I'd say give it a shot. Tip the driver handsomely.
I assume you are looking for a backup plan. I think Uber or Lyft may be a good backplan for you. Yes, I think it'll work.
That's true with Lyft where drivers are notified in advance and drivers can "accept" those rides in advance, days in advance. However, they are still not required to make the pickups, so it's still not bulletproof.
With Uber, it's just another ride. I cannot remember if it even tells you that it's a scheduled ride. The "scheduling" is just way to schedule a dispatch request at the date and time specified by the rider. If no drivers, no drivers.
Do not ever ask me to break the law. Your crappy tip isn’t worth it.
I’m sure your post is going to rub many drivers the wrong way, but you share philosophies that are so important in the customer service industry.
I also agree that we should be appreciative of the opportunity to make money and have a job. I do feel in general that too many drivers recently seem entitled.
I admire your attitude and your willingness to provide service for those in need.
"I am late, please hurry." and "Can I squeeze a fifth on the car? She's small and can sit on our laps."
I get it once a weekend.
I assume all passengers are packing heat.
The worst is when the passenger gets mad for being picked up AND dropped off last.
I've had some mean comments and some claim discrimination for what *I* did. I always try to explain it but regardless of whether they get it or not, they are sure to leave a crappy review.
No good comes from trying to return the phone. Just turn it off, and drop it off the closest Uber Greenlight Hub.
and yes, turn it off. There are crazy people out there, folks.
Right. And you know Uber doesn’t pay anything because these call centers work off of a kickback from the auto mechanics.
For what it's worth, the concept of food delivery has been attempted by various vendors for the last few decades. We all know there is demand out there. The rest is just execution and economics. Perhaps if anyone can do it, it's Uber. They already have a massive number of drivers, and they are already out there. Taking on additional jobs for food delivery may work.
