  Uber loses money on each ride. - or do they?

  Here's the thing. They are investing so much money in areas outside of transportation or ridesahres, and that's why they are losing massive amounts of money.

  It's well possible that if we excluded all of the non-rideshare expenses, they may have profits or the loss will at least be smaller.

  I agree.  However, I wonder two things:

  - Why aren't these startups struggling?  these female for female rideshare companies are falling like flies.

  - Why wouldn't Uber and Lyft offer this service?  Just create a new bucket called, "Uber Females" or something.  They created them for stupid stuff like UberDogs and Uber Mariachi Bands, so this cannot be difficult.

  it's obvious that the business model doesn't work out but I wonder what's holding them back.  Not enough female drivers?

  Wait, I thought the pins are placed on the person's GPS location, not the address.  Of course, unless the passenger-to-be enters the address manually.  No?
