That reminds me of the subway in Japan. I they can do it, they should have an option for women too, right? Just create another option next to UberX. UberWomen or something.
I would imagine their assistants can create them accounts in their names, no? Can't be that hard to anonymize them. Though, I guess they would be breaking Uber's terms
That's a lot of background checks Uber pays for just to have them quit in the first year.
Aren't they spending crazy amount of money on each recruitment too?
Right. zero loyalty. no exclusivity at all. what a nightmare for a business that costs so much to acquire new users.
Maybe they all need to work on having a "sticky factor." Frequent Flyer program, discount on volume, unlocking statuses, etc.
First graph. If you aggregate the three lines, you get how many trips are actually being taken. That shows how more and more rides are being taken by consumers. No wonder Manhattan is seeing traffic problems.
Grab is definitely similar. They have GrabShare like UberPool. They also have surges.
One thing I noticed is that they have a third-party taxi dispatch platform, meaning you are supposed to be able to call regular taxis. Sort of like Curb or Flywheel in the USA.
Well, the question is... do you give a low rating?

This totally reminds me of the "pay-for-what-you-can" concept. It's super cool If you are poor, you pay less. If you are rich, you pay more. If you are homeless, you pay nothing. Way to take care of the community

I don't mean to by friendly to uber but I guess if this is the only way for me to have uber service at my house, I'd rather havet the choice.
I am not a driver, but if I drove one, I would knit!
You can use it anywhere. Just open the app and go. At least this is true in the US cities.
I hope they "revamp" their workplace policies so women are treated better.
Remember the horns and windwos must be "functional."
Oh, no. I wish I hadn't seen this. I can't believe i am the Know it all.
Is it supposed to read, when is it price surging? or surge-price-ing?
A.R.RIVING.
D.E.PARTING.
Wait, wat. No bonus for rides? Seriously, what's the point?
The first request must have triggered the surge pricing for the second request (albeit a split second later). You doubled the demand while the supply diminihed by one car, right?
My guess? Maybe the first request (albeit it being only a few seconds ahead) triggered the surge pricing.
