Watch out, Uber! No-driver Waymo is almost here!
Apparently, Google's autonomous vehicles are pretty much ready. I guess their field test in Arizone was successful? Arriving to the … -
Is it true Uber ignores the rating if the reason provided is to do with Pricing or GPS issues?

Why does it take so long to get approved to become a driver for Uber?
Yeah, I don't give a hoot what they wear. To be honest, I don't even pay attention. They sit up front, and I mean..I just see the back of his head.
When I think about it though, I think most drivers do dress nice. Hey, I guess paying respect and being proud of the job is a good thing.
who is making fun of UberEats?
Asking for the destination and cancelling (but only after arrival)
Here's one trick I heard from a driver but I am not sure if it's true. The driver would call you to ask you for the destination in order to determine if he wants to take a ride or not. e.g. Is it long enough to make it worth it? Then if they deem it unworthy, they would actually arrive, not text you, wait a few minutes and then cancel.
Apparently, if you cancel after you arrive, and waited x minutes, they won't be penalized in the eyes of Uber. Messed up. and the rider cannot leave them a bad review either, because the ride hasn't occured. Messed up, right?
Isn't Seattle the city it was heavily debated whether the Uber drivers were independent contractor or employees? I think the city argued for them being an employee, so I bet the drivers took advantage of it.
A single app enabled company. It'll be that way unless they have a flood of drivers signing up.
They don't do jack. It's like a mom telling me I did a good job.
Wait, now I am intrigued. Are you trying to contact the driver for other reasons, say because you found him (or her) attractive? Slightly creepy, but I am sure that happens.
Doesn't Greyhound own Mega Bus? not that it changes anything.
That screenshot is precious. They should use that in court.
Definitely buy a dashcam. Get the kind that swivels and you can point it towards the cabin. People behave better when they know they're being recorded.
So this is why Uber doesn't use the word, "reserve" and only "scheduled."
good guru answer but anyone know it this actually works with lyft? my number got banned and i wouldnt mind having a working account
I think you just created a new business. Uber for Car Repairs. Genius!!
I'm sure if the driver is okay with it and you pay the driver for his or her trouble, it's totally ok.
Wow, that was fast. Did they even last a year?
It must be all those Fasten drivers out there crowding the streets!
plenty of people don't have cars or have access to public transportation. come on.
What about my Tesla?
This cannot be true either.
The game of cancellation chicken
This typically happens around airports, where drivers will sit in the cell phone area or short-term parking with their app on. You call a ride and the car looks like it’s RIGHT THERE, but it doesn’t move. Five minutes later, it’s still there, so you call to see what’s up, and nobody answers. Then you get a text saying “I’ll be there in three minutes!” Three minutes later, no car. You cancel, and get assessed a $5 fee. The driver repeats the process all day while listening to soccer.
Let's assume that there are more and more drivers using Juno (for reasons you gave). the question is whether that turns into more ridership. Do consumers care if the drivers are happier? ...or do they really not care that much? Perhaps they want incentives on their own? I don't know the answer to that. I would like to think I care about the livelihood of drivers, but at the end of the day, I think most people lean on what directly affects them like wait time, price, etc.. again, I am not sure.
Brand loyalty? I don't think that exists in this industry. Drivers just want more fares and make money. Riders just want to get from point A to point B. I think there is consideration for safety and quality of service, but I feel like convenience outweighs everything else.
and what exactly is that rule? entertain us. no, i am serious.
