  While I agree with the logic, the 18 is a magic number when discussing law and liability. Companies don't care if the riders are mature enough or too stupid to ride as long as insurance covers the potential mess and they are protected against legal matters.

  I mean, there are plenty of stupid people who are also clueless at the age of 18+.

  Of course, the law has set the benchmark at 18 when considering the maturity, right? We as a society decided that it's 18 when a person is mature enough, can make their own decisoins, etc.

  Plus these bicycles won't magically appear at your location.  You have to go hunt them down.  (but I assume you can see their location on GPS.)

  Good job, and you are correct, sir.  As a driver, you do have a level of "duty to rescue" this poor woman (and other passengers).    There was a thread on this a while back on this forum:

  Sweet. I am from Boston.  So I can walk away if the CC isn't working then.

  Serves them right.  Drivers always lie about the machine being broken

  I see some irony in this.  I bet Uber is kicking themselves that they didn't raise rates sooner, because the reason the city is charging these fees is to make it more expensive so there'd be more competition, right?  That $400M that city will pocket could have gone to Uber.

  Yes, I am in Boston and I have seen one or two dashcams...and they were pointed backwards.  I assume they were on and recording. 

  No, I wasn't warned or anythng by the driver.  I didn't point it out as I had no idea if it was legal or not.  I guess I got nothing to hide.  I also get it that the drivers are doing that to protect themselves.

  If you don't own a smartphone, perhaps you shouldn't be using ubers and lyfts. I mean, what's the point?   The convenience is completely gone.  go call a cab like all other grand parents.

  Yeah, 8~13 an hour.  Sure, Denver, Detroit, and Houston aren't LA or NYC, but that's a pretty big gap.
