Uber commissions capped at 25%, no upfront pricing, exact destination on each trip before accepting a ride, old surge multiplier is back, no AR restrictions etc.

Uber is Making Big Changes in California for Drivers! Is all this due to CA AB5?
I welcome these changes over the past month culminating with commission caps at 25%, showing destination, bringing the old surge …
Thank you for reading. They could have cooked the bools when they were private but it's tough to do that as a public company. Their stock is down over 35% amd Lyft over 40% since going public. They're truly not making money!
You can always schedule a ride on both platforms but there will always be cars, there's the cab alternatives
Go to the Android or IOS app store, download the Uber amd LYFT passenger apps, fill out the necessary boxes, attach a debit or credit card, you'll be ready in couple of minutes. When you're ready to order the rode for your brother, turn the apps on, put his pickup location then the destination in the application, they'll quote you a price, order the rode and your brother will be picked up. Make sure to send your brother the make, model of the car and the license plate.
Both Uber and Lyft's safety reports are due to be released before the year end, it'll be a disaster. Regulators are catching up to both, good luck.
If I only had a dollar for every pax who said I'll tip you in the app, I'd be a millionaire. 😆
Well they have to try to make themselves look like that to skirt the ABC test. Good luck on that, not too many holes in that law. Or be an a-hole lime Tony West and tell the world that the driver isn't core part of their tech platform. Another UBER lawyer made that argument in 2017 in front of a N.Y. judge, this a an excerpt of that conversation. Priceless!
Both their apps will underestimate the arrival time to get you to order their service. Best way to check that is to run Google maps yourself and see what it is.
I've had many driver accounts suspended for up to six weeks. There's a glitch in the checker/uber system. It's your right to request a copy of your background check from checker. Once you have that and see nothing wrong with it, take it to your Greenlight hub and hope for the best. Most of the drivers I know who had the same problem are back on the platform and sone even got compensated for the mistake.
Since the rates are crap for the drivers, tips are always appreciated. If you don't tip you may get a bad rating, I doubt it though, UBER never deactivated pax for low ratings like they do with drivers. 4.60 or below will het a driver booted of the platform.
Nope, they changed to the penny surge in Los Angeles as well, it's going nationwide. That's the way to charge pax the multiplier and pay the drover peanuts. Another pay cut, I already have screenshots of UBER charging pax 3x and paying the driver $5, they called it more consistent earnings and longer lasting surge.
Please, everyone, don't call it flat rate surge, flat and surge in the same sentence is an oxymoron. I labeled it the penny surge, it's similar to Lyft PPZ.
It's just the dysfunctional little sister following the evil empire. The big brother had it for a while, it's all in an effort to skirt the new AB5 law, make themselves look like a technology platform. Good luck!
Uber and Lyft is like a pyramid scheme. They keep saying they're disrupting three industries. Cabs, food delivery and trucking. Has anyone told these geniuses that those businesses have historically been businesses with razor thin margins? I guess they failed to research that. They'll never be able to make a profit. They have the balls to compare themselves to Amazon. Amazon makes all their money in AWS a very high margin business.
On another subject, would you like to read more of Patrick's real life veteran cabbie stories? Amazing stuff.
Thank you, do you want to read about Patrick's true life experiences as a veteran cabbie? This guys is a true veteran grinder.
In the U.S., the background checks are so watered down that if you're breathing, you'll pass. If the checks were extensive as you put it, you wouldn't hear about all the crimes of humanity. Checked for cleanliness? Now that's funny. No one says taxis are any better than Uber or Lyft but let's be honest here, the only reason you take an Uber over a cab is because it's half the price or less.
Thank you
I was cleared and back online for Lyft. They can take their platform and shove it. Lesson learned, when you get a pothead in your car and the smell lingers, make sure that's the last ride until the weed odors are gone before accepting the next ride. However, this shows the cavalier attitude of Lyft putting a driver's account on hold without listening to my side of the story first.
It started with Tony West chief counsel for Uber and brother in law of Kamala Harris telling reporters that UBER does not fall under the umbrella of AB5 because they're a technology platform and the driver is not essential to the core part of their business. Despicable really! Long fight coming as well as 90 million for a state referendum to overturn AB5 which they will lose.
Wrote about this a month ago for Rideguru. So much for freedom and flexibility. They're proving that they didn't need all the drivers they signed up in the first place. They oversaturated the market with new drivers in order for pax ETA to be short without a thought for utilization rates for the drivers.

I don't drive for a lift as much but hopefully it will be cleared next couple days they have to put two and two together a while ago in fact they announced a new driver statement last Thursday and I was on a conference call with the chief product officer and chief marketing officer of Lyft for an hour so they know who I am
Another business with razor thin margins Uber says they're disrupting, another long term money loser
