no but i think it is pretty common - always check your credit card statement!
WOW!! 😲
Uber surge has been through the roof recently, its actually not a bad time to be an Uber driver.
I bet it will be more, most likely you will hit surge pricing. If you schedule the ride ahead of time though you can lock in the current price you are seeing!
Will you need a car a lot to get to and from airport/schools? It is pretty reliable, though you may have a to wait a bit longer than we were used to in the past however, if you are using it a lot the cost will add up!
What is your "guaranteed safety feature"?
I have had drivers charge cancellation fees before when they are clearly the ones refusing to take me. It is infuriating, I always report them, but often then can get away with it so they do it to make some money.
Have you tried using this Uber or Lyft app in your area? You can use the RideGuru calculator to see which would be the cheapest!
I have never tested this theory out but lots of riders will complain that the rates do go up the more you check and that they also go up the more you ride. Uber definitely does some sketchy things...
That is really strange. I have only heard of this happening when riders give their phones to their Uber driver at the end of a trip, not realizing you should never give your phone to the driver. Did your driver ask for your phone at all?
What is CRB? Oh Canada Recovery Benefit? Just looked it up...sorry I'm in the US so I am not sure.
Most drivers will not want to keep the car running for you as they do not make much sitting around waiting. I would recommend just ordering another Uber or Lyft when you are done with your errand. If you are truly going to only be 30 seconds in a building, just dropping something off, then you can tell your driver and they might wait there for you to request a ride home.
terrifying.
Hasn't this been a goal of Uber and Lyft for quite awhile now?
How does this protect the rider? A drunk person could still get in the wrong car! Simply a predator just has to park outside a bar at closing and tell a drunk girl that he is their Uber. No pin is going to solve this.
Eh, mixed feelings on this. I mean I guess it is good but seems a bit superfluous really. There are plenty of ways to verify your driver, license plate, name, car make/model, etc. I feel the incidents of drunk girls getting in the wrong car are really just the fault of too much alcohol and not thinking. Will a pin stop drunk girls from getting in the wrong cars? No way, if they can't remember to check the license plate their is no way they are going to remember to activate some sort of pin.
The passenger count is simply the max occupancy of passengers that the car can hold. You do not have to find the extra people, you can simply ride by yourself :)
also keep in mind that the cost is per ride not per person!
Of course they don't becuase Uber and Lyft think they are above the law. UGH PLEASE!
Here id my question to you, if someone looks young do you ask to see ID before they get in your car?
Oh gosh, this is just devastating. Poor little girl. I find it strange that if this women and man where is cahoots that they would use her Uber account - so dumb!!
