Remember this mantra of being an Uber driver:
You make money by driving the rush or driving the drunks.
Slamming the door
bad body odor
Not being at the location they say they are
People who complain that there are other passengers even though they ordered Uberpool
Drunken loud people
We all know how it will be. We already covered this:
because we use our own cars. cars that we'd like to use for personal purposes and don't want some ugly divider. :)
No idea. Don't even know what you are talking about.
Guys, what is going on here. The man is just trying to earn a living. All he is trying to do is to ake $1 more on his $3 ride. Trying to feed his family for godsakes. Either throw him a bone, or just let it be. amirite?
The worst ever.
Vehicle Size - wanted an SUV
I have heard of passengers who call for an UberBlack even though they wanted an UberSUV. They either have too large of a party or wanted a larger car for comfort. One of my passengers told me this.
Hold on a sec. If someone rents a car for the weekend, that's 2.5 days - and $300. Not shabby.
and no one will rent a car for one or two hours. Even a short grocery trip would take 2~3 hours. $10~15. Imagine making that for doing nothing. Your car can be making money while you are at work and while you are sleeping.
Some of those achievements are actual financial bonuses. I think it's the same as before with items under the Promotions tab. Like your boost and stuff. You know how it does't currently tell you the progress, like how close you are to the 2.4x boost?
With new app you can. That's kinda neat.
Yeah, right? I appreciate the "gesture," including 911 button, better user feedback, and supposedly more transparent earnings report, but... Can you just pay us more?
The OP asked for Uber...
This is one of those airports where you have to walk longer and outside to catch your Uber than it is to take a taxi. Many people just see the taxis outside and instead of requesting an Uber, they just hop on a taxi
it's a conspiracy!
Nope. because if you do that you will most likely be in areas where there will be passeners and you'd end up getting requests. You could potentially cancel them but Uber will start to catch on if they saw that.
The Fare Guarantee Trick used to be easy and it still works.
Uber frequently offers the "average hourly guarantee". This means that if you are working a certain number of hours and are still making very little money, Uber will pay the difference to bring your pay up to that guarantee.
So what did drivers do? They found a quiet corner where there are unlikely to be any ride requests, and just sit and wait. Nap, read a book, play iPhone games, etc. Then towards the time period, say six hours later towards the end of a shift, go to a populated area say downtown, and do a bunch of short rides to meet the minimum required. Then Uber pays the difference. Boom. The driver just worked for an hour and made the money he woud have working 7 hours.
Some drivers were caught doing this at their homes in the suburbs. They would watch TV at home, with their app running all day. Then they go do a few rides, and they'd still get all the hourly payout.
Uber cracked down on this by putting weird logic in place, but it still works.
Good post. I do drive for both, but I have to be careful about the incentives. The moment I hit my week goals, I do often switch or just keep them both on. I summarize it like this, by the way:
I would pick in any given area, whichever has the most passengers and less drivers. You obviously want more passengers but you also want less competitor.
Always put your money on the most ovvious answer. In this case, Aptiv's sensor malfunctioned and they're just making excuses.
I've had pax give me pin codes to get passed the gate. You can always ask for that.
It doesn't really matter what rating you have though as a passenger. It's not like you will be deactivated. If you do something stupid and get complains from drivers, Uber may contact you but the ratings really don't mean anything.
No, this is the world we live in now. Trump tweets something stupid and Uber is revealed to have done something illegla.
so when do these cars stop? Can i hear a success story? Does it recognize red lights and a person lying down on a road?
