Can a Uber driver start the trip without the passenger in the car? ...and take an imaginary passenger for a ride to make money?
For one, these criminals aren't smart.
Two, it's nice to have your prey show up with a click of a button.
Why are you guys giving drivers weird ideas.
You forgot Jump and Bird.
Right, no, you can't. It's actually cool. Try logging in with the other device, and if there is already a ride underway, you will see information about that ride. I know you were trying to circumvent it, but I think this is neat.
Oldest profession in the world. Now mobile.
This is actually a great feature, becauase it allows us to get around the limitation on how one account can only request one vehicle at a time. So usually, the host can only order one car at a time. This event thing essentially allows us to circumvent that. sort of.
You mean they love to disrupt already regulated markets.
There is a benefit to having this be run by a national company. Only one app. You can go from a city to city and you'd only have to use one account, one app, and one payment system. The user adoption is key.
and there are lots of Technology and R&D built into these bikes. Dock-less, GPS, and now self-powered. yep, motorized. They are more like unregulated cars these days.
It's possibly because Lyft passengers are often more experienced with rideshares and they know they are supposed to tip. They are usually who tried Uber first and moved over to Lyft. So they are more accustomed to it.
Uber passengers can be ignorant anyone who doesn't even think about tipping. and many can be one-time users.
That doesn't change how the citations are issued or driving records being affected. The operator is ultimately responsible for these violations regardless of your employment status.
Do you work for an employer? An office worker or a delivery truck driver? If you get a ticket, it's on you.
I believe it's EVE, andit's an acronym. Extra-terrestial Vegetation Evaluator.
Do these drive themselves? Is that why they are here? Reminds me of the Tesla's long distance freight trucks
Can we just get the Uber drivers to show up in time? Why does it always say they are 4 minutes away and end up taking 8 minutes?
I was laughing and scoffing and completely being skeptical about this scam. You just made so much sense that now I am completely angry about this scam.
Gasp! The same thing happened to me once too, when I was on a business trip at Gaylord Hotel in DC. My colleague and I both had the Uber app, and his showed like $15, and mine showed $88. i thought it was a total fluke, perhaps a bug. So I just had him call one.
I'd love to provide more details to see what factors are involved but honestly, I am not sure how he and I were so different. I am from Boston and he's fro Philly. We were in DC together. We both take Uber for work in downtowns and have similar riding habits.
