Driver here. Uber cars are technically supposed to be smoke-free. But like brownbear said, even if that rule was adhered to, you don't know the car's history. One thing you could do is call the driver after you request the ride (you can call via the app), and ask them, explaining that any previous smokers in the car at all would give you a bad reaction. Most drivers would be honest about it since they don't want a bad rating. They would rather you cancel the ride than get a 1 star rating.
Yeah the fact that this is her first ride says something. Also she says she ordered the "most expensive version" but I am having a hard time believing that picture is from a black car. If it is that's pretty bad. You gotta keep your car extra clean if you're doing black.
Yeah I like the wireless charging in the car. But plugging a wire in is not a big deal I guess.
This is actually brilliant. Magnet to hold the phone in place. Bottom supports to stop it falling down. I have been scared of the magnet ones because I don't want my phone to keep falling off. Might have to try this.
I don't think minors should be riding with rideshares. Waay too many risks.
But as for me, I will take them if it comes down to it. I am responsible and will get them where they are going safely.
Some interesting stuff here. Do you guys plan to run this survey again next year?? It would be interesting to see the differences.
Ouch. Not sure what to tell you. Good luck.
Short rides on uber are a problem that uber needs to figure out. They are way too cheap. Pax should be incentivized to use uber for longer trips imo. maybe they need a penalty fee for really short trips or something.
"Uber told BBC that the new rule likely won't affect a significant portion of its customers — Uber estimates that 90% of its customers in Australia and New Zealand already have a rating of 4.5 stars or more. Customers who receive the ban would have had to receive multiple one-star reviews by their drivers, Uber said."
Sounds like a measured response to a problem. I wouldn't have a problem with it.
If you're gonna off yourself like that just do it in a park or something where you're not messing up someone's stuff..
So they report that after expenses, drivers earn < $10/hr. Sounds about right.
I love it!!! Yay, puke!!! Smells so yummy. Love having it in my car.
Just kidding, are you on crack?
This is a good point. Uber is vulnerable right now, in the leadup to their IPO.
You can use RideGuru too!
Come on. 5K is still impressive. Yes the tech is in its infancy. But give these guys some credit.
Car seats are nice and soft. I don't have an issue with it. Lots of people sit at a desk all day and you don't hear them complaining about this issue.
Yikes. That doesn't look good.
Man... that's incredibly dumb of them. Uber being uber. So they are basically saying they can't offer rides between NJ and Philly, right? Because no driver would willingly make that driver knowing they can't get a fare back.
This site has its quirks but I prefer it to the old-style forums that are just pages and pages of comments with all the replies mixed together. I hate having to read 15 pages of comments just to find one or two good ones. I like how highly rated comments go to the top here.
But I find navigation around this site harder than it needs to be. I think there is some room for improvement.
A lot of people just need to talk. It can be so helpful sometimes. You don't even have to respond. Just that you are there listening is all they need. Somedays I think I should have gone into psychology, I mean isn't that all it is? "yes. mmm-hmm. How did that make you feel?"
Hear hear. This is really all that needs to be said.
