I didn't realize this was a thing but they pay hourly. Not sure how much. Anyone deliver weed before?

While I refuse to do UberEats, I would do MJ delivery in a heartbeat. With food you have to park (problem), go in, wait, pick up, drive, park, deliver, steps, doors, security and all the associated frustrations with finding/locating etc....
But with MJ you would pick up a non-spillable completely sealed container, most likely wrapped and concealed so as to not be obvious, take it to a waiting customer who will be REALLY glad to see you, and IMO, much more likely to tip. No smell, no spillage, no "wrong order" no cold food none of that business.
For those worried about security, it's a non issue in my mind. Nobody would know who you are or what you're delivering, although I'd certainly watch the rear view mirror when I departed the facility just to be sure I wasn't being followed etc... but beyond that, it's much easier than delivering for UberEats IMO
I'd like to think discrete delivery is one of the expectations for this company. I mean sure for the drivers but also for people ordering them. I prefer to not have my neighbor find out that I am getting drugs delivered to my house.
...meaning they are not going to make drivers put one of those dominoes dome lights on top of the cars.
Not worth the risk. People already rob dispensaries. All you'd do is make drivers targets instead.
But how would anyone know you are delivering weed, as opposed to just being a dude in a car?
Way more financially rewarding to sell weed out of he window of your car.
I would. I live in Colorado, and I feel like I'd make a killing.
The problem is the collection. If the company Eaze is willing to do all the collection and pay properly for it, sure. I'd do it.
I mean, I don't think you'd be better off in CO than anywhere else where weed is legal. But yeah.
My buddy does this, says he earns about $16 per hour. Sometimes he gets tips, but he said not that often and usually the tips are pretty minimal.
Tips must take many forms in this gig. Doritos, a bong hit, cheese balls, leftover pizzas, etc
LMAO they have weed for pets in their menu. https://www.eaze.com/menu
I have not driven for Eaze and I would never deliver marijuana. It is not that I am against medical marijuana, I am not against it. I am against being mugged and robbed etc. There are many nut cases out there that would be delighted to go after this old lady for the stuff in her car. So never never. Just morning rush hour riders and occasional meals.
How would someone know you were delivering for eaze though? It's not like you'd have a flashing sign on your car. I hope.
I think you'd be just as likely to be jacked whether you are working for eaze, or just out getting groceries for your family.
It will be well known very soon where all the distribution places are for medical marajuana. Anyone could follow someone leaving any of these distribution places carrying anything. I think that would be a good enough advertisement of high potential for good robery score.
There are 4 distribution places right now in Pittsburgh PA and I know where they are and I am not a customer. They have signs up stating that they are distribution places --- sooooooo I am not going to consider stopping there and then exiting with anything in my hands that could be thought of as merchandise from there.
You just gotta grow your own :D
I would do it in conjunction with a destination filter so you can drive weed and during that trip get a passenger on uber or Lyft and kill two birds at the same time. I did that for a while when delivering packages ;) if only Lyft filters did not suck as bad as they do and actually found a passenger once in a blue moon that is heading the needed direction and oh yes not expire after 10 minutes ;)
I can't imagine that the economics work for this. Delivering stuff is not a high margin job. People don't like to pay for people's time and fuel to just have something delivered. PIzza and Chinese are the only exceptions. All others have another purpose, like flowers that get sent to friends faraway.
You overestimate pot smokers. Trust me, they are plenty lazy enough to order weed on demand.
Source: am one. Would use this if it was available in my area.
If I get to try the products for free as well, then sure! :)
I would, but it isn't avaialable here. Where are they anyways?
There is a benefit for pizza delivery, because you want them hot and freshly baked
There is a benefit for grocery delivery, because that's something we can use on a daily basis, and it could be cumbersome to bring them all home.
Now with marijuana, neither of the above will apply. Weed is portable, and I don't think they need it fresh. So surmise that there is no business model for this.
The best it will do is for people to sell and buy some illegal crap, and this will be used as a cover.
Where I grew up, the local pizza delivery guys were also selling weed out of their cars. So there's that. Pretty smart play and they had a lot of business. People called in for "pizzas" they got a side of weed with it. They got busted though.
You don't get it. Weed smokers are super lazy bro. That's kind of the whole point.
Maybe people want fresh marijuana.
