Uber keeps announcing safett measures for passengers. HEY FUBER HOW ABOUT SAFETY MEASURES FOR THE DRIVERS?https://amp-sacbee-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/amp.sacbee.com/news/local/crime/article235833932.html?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQCKAE%3D#aoh=15703055360688&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sacbee.com%2Fnews%2Flocal%2Fcrime%2Farticle235833932.html
In other words how could a taxi be better from the driver’s perspective. There has got to be an argument for this, and there are obviously still taxi drivers out there. and please consider the current changing tides and regulations that are coming.
My girlfriend told me this is absolutely true. I dismissed it as an urban legend, but then I heard from a driver the other day. Is there any basis on this rumor?...or is it really true? I know Uber historically has done some shady things.
I can't read this with a straight face:The changes include giving users things to do other than call a ride when they open up the app — such as order food and view public transportation options. It’s another example of how the company is trying to branch out from ride-hailing, in a push to become profitable. It’s all about trust. For people to rely on Uber for more than rides the company will have to earn their trust, which it’s struggled to maintain over the years. Most recently, the company’s safety policies are being scrutinized after a Washington Post ...
Do we need to reengage on a "is rideshare safe" discussion again or is this the nature of the type of service they provide? To assess the actual risk, we need to compare it to how things used to be with the taxis. Does anyone have enough statistics to show that rideshares are indeed more dangerous than what taxis used to be? We have to be asking the right question.Fourteen women are suing Lyft over allegedly mishandling their sexual assault, sexual misconduct and rape complaints against drivers that occurred while using its service, bringing renewed attention to the issue ...
Uber calls it the flat rate surge, flat and surge should not even be in the same sentence, it is an oxymoron. What started in Charlotte a year ago, has spread throughout the country and finally arrived in Los Angeles last week. Lyft had gotten rid of PT in April and had replaced it with PPZ. Now they both have a license to rip every passenger off by charging full on surge multiplier and pay the driver peanuts. Their take rates are going through the roof. This is a 30 mile ride that would have taken an hour and a ...
Yesterday, I had a driver who mentioned how he hates the people in rich towns and he gives negative ratings just because. (also mentioned rich people don't tip, but I digress)Well, what the heck. I live in an affluent neighborhood. I don't think he picked up on that, but this did get me thinking. Could I be penalized from jealous and petty drivers? Is this a common practice? I'd like to think it was a bad apple who is jealous and petty, but I have gotten comments from drivers who drop me off or pick me up at home ...
I came up with this. What do you think?
5⭐️ Keep this driver on the road.
4⭐️ Driver needs to be terminated, but we’ll forgive them this time.
3⭐️ Driver needs to be terminated, strike 1 out of 3.
2⭐️ Driver needs to be terminated, and this is the final warning, strike 2 out of 3.
1⭐️ Driver needs to be terminated NOW!
What passengers think:
5⭐️ This is the best ride I’ve ever had! I only want this driver to drive me. (A)
4⭐️ Pretty good, but I’ve had better. (B)
I am glad someone is doing the math. It's too bad it isn't the drivers. I assume this applies to UberEats' competeitors like GrubHub, Postmates, and DoorDash. The problem here is that the average profit margin for a restaurant is under 30%. Fast food such as McDonalds reported profit margins about 22% in 2017. Casual dining or family style restaurants have a profit margin between 5% to 10%. Lastly, full-service restaurants such as fine-dining have average profit margins of about 6.1%. (source)Based on the average profit margins above, every restaurant that engages Uber Eats will lose money on every ...
