Here is the full review after he gave it a go for a week.
Top Takeaways
Pay is comparable but the rideshare bonuses really tilt the scales! Uber and Lyft pay top drivers up to $500 per week on top of fares just to get them out on the road.
Taxi passengers tended to be older, more mature and far more interesting. Many of them had a strong anti Uber and Lyft bias because of the increased congestion associated with rideshare.
The taxi sign-up process is much more onerous even though both rideshare drivers and taxi drivers are doing the exact same job. Jay had to submit fingerprints, a drug test, online training and even submit a few paper forms.
It requires far more skill to be a good taxi driver than a good Uber/Lyft driver.

Yes, you can schedule a ride ahead in SF if you are worried about getting a ride, though as RedANT stated you should have no problem getting a ride on demand.
If you are looking for companies that focus on scheduling rides in advance you can use RideGuru's Fare Calculator and look under the "Book Ahead" tab for your trip to find companies that will allow you to easily book your ride in advance.

Here is a handy guide for what each car size can accommodate!
My best guess would be that there will be a few Uber/Lyft drivers on the road at that time. Though I would order a little earlier than usual as it might take a bit longer for a driver to get to you!
You can also check out this article to see if Uber has scheduled rides available in your area.

Wow! I wonder what this guys tips are like!?
It is a sprint right now to see who can do this first! Uber and Google are big players. Is Lyft in the running to?
Yes! Uber is similar to a taxi, a car will pick you up and take you where you need to go! First, you need to sign up for Uber by downloading the Uber app onto your smartphone.
This page here is a great resource for those just learning about rideshares like Uber. There is even a step by step process that details how to sign up for Uber.
With which rideshare company do you have an account set up with? Uber, Lyft?
If you are referring to your RideGuru account, this is solely an account to participate in our community through our RideGuru Lounge. In order to hail a ride with a rideshare company you will need to download the desired rideshare app (uber, lyft) from the app store on your smartphone and sign up!

Oh man, this is truly a nightmare of mine! Please tell me you at least got a clean up fee from this girl!
Really?! That is a bit un-nerving!
Plus Uber X is definitely the most affordable!
If you really want a taxi company try searching for your fare on the RideGuru Calculator and when you get your results, click on "Call Taxi" on the Taxi Fare Card. This will pop up a list of taxi companies in your designated area which will be rated on a 5 star scale, letting you pick the one most riders feel is best!

Hopefully they didn't really cross Queen Bey!
Uber and Lyft both have advanced bookings now in some cities!
This is super interesting. I thought it was going to be a separate rideshare service but it works alongside Uber and Lyft. There is a $2.95 reservation fee, it would have to be a pretty awesome driver for me to keep paying to reserve them :)
I love this idea! Positive feedback is always important, though tips are more important :)
About 60-70% of the time, the price they quote is correct and they charge you that exact amount but I have had the price go up on me before (not so surprisingly, the price has never gone down from the quoted price...). If my driver takes a different route or there is really horrendous traffic, then the price will increase and will be different from the original quote.
Interesting video but she didn't factor in the per minute charge nor did she factor in the base fare! Both of these add a little bit more money earned to the driver.
I was wondering the exact same thing.
