One of the Wa Wa stires in my area is now delivering. Guess they are testing it first here in Philly. I love the idea. Food is decent and a much healthier than fast food. Haven't tried it yet but will soon. Much rather use delivery people that work for the store. I've used Grub Hub and Uber Eats food wasnt even warm when I got it. The resturant was far from my house either.
Lyft is as despicable as Uber and Dara. They put it out there like they are helping drivers by giving them extra money to go pick riders up. In the end of the email the axe falls. Sounds like big brother Uber. Lyft always copying Uber. Cant they come up with anything on their own. They were paying drivers in gift cards to send in screenshots of the promotions, bonuses, and quest. They had driver do weekly surveys for these gift cards. These companies will lie, cheat, steal, and pay off whoever they can to get what they want. Bet they would sell out their immediate family members if it woukd benefit them.
They all ready have these types of services. Home care agencies that send Home Health aides and nurses. Prescriptions can be sent from an online pharmacy company through the mail or most pharmacies have their own delivery service. Unfortunately if you need an antibiotic you have no choice but to go see your doctor. They need to do an exam and possibly order some test before they hand you a script for an antibiotic. I believe there are all ready companies out there that have drivers that go to a store pick up what you request and then deliver it to you. So unfortunately companies all ready exists. I wasnt a fan of doing Home Health Care. Foo boring to do all the time:) Give it 5/10 yrs Uber CEO Dara K will have Uber Ambulance, Uber Hearse, Uber on demand Nurses, etc... He has all ready stated he wants to take over the transportation Industry. He wants to be the Amazon of transportation. Can you say Egotistical? Lol That is good ole Dara K.
People dont want ti be recorded in our cars but do they realize almost everywhere you go you are being recoded? I have a few private patientsI I take care of. Obviously I am not there 24/7 so there are agency staff that comes in. These people have caneras in their house. Rightfully so they do not know these nurses coming in. Their loved ones are incapable of protecting themselves. When you allow strangers in to your car, home, and office cameras are important. When I first started seeing cameras in these peoples homes I was a little uncomfortable but I understood why they were there. If riders get into our cars and there is a dash cam why would you have a problem with it? It's for the drivers safety as well as passengers. You as a passenger wants to be safe shouldn't the driver be able to protect themselves? Why would you want to take that away from a driver? Is your life more important as a passenger? How long are you in an Uber 10/60 min? What are you doing during that times that you want driver to shut camera off. If your on the phone and dont want your conversation recorded hello the driver can still hear you. Save private conversation for the appropriate places or text. I dont understand what you are doing or saying that being recorded would be an issue for you. I get it may be uncomfortable but I can assure you most drivers go home download the day and never look at it again. I save footage for 30/60 days and then I get rid of it. I never go home and go over footage for the day unless their was an issue. I have not had to look over any footage to date. I dont have the time and no one that gets into my car is that important to me for me to care to look over it. If someone had an important business call and asked me to turn it off I would be ok with that. Again you should really save sensitive/private conversation for your home or office. Have some respect & understanding for your driver. Realize we pick up strangers all day and night we are far from safe out there. We want to go home to our husbands, wives, children, family, and friends at the end of our shift. We also want proof when riders send false accusations to Uber or Lyft it happens all the time. How would you feek if one day you went to work inky to be told you were fired? Sime steanger walked off the street lied and said you did something thst you didnt do. It also can help in accidents. Just realize life isnt just all about 1 person everyone deserves to be/feel safe.
Thankfully its rare I pick up young drunk people anymore. It seems that its young people who go out drinking or its underage passengers (all the more reason not to pick them up) that use fake names. I am willing to bet the riders with fake names are the same idiots who jump into their Uber without making sure they have right car or that the car is really an Uber. My riders are more mature and grew out of that childish stage. Most of my riders are 22 yrs of age & up traveling for business or traveling with their family.
This is a real safety issue for drivers. Riders need to wake up. Not only are drivers at risk but so are the riders. Unfortunately female riders have been raped, inappropriately touched, and murdered. You are getting in a strangers car. Grabbing an Uber or Lyft should be taken seriously its not a game, its not s joke real $hi+ happens. Wise up!
You dont need to do anything but have your apps on. Uber and Lyft will send you trips in PA, NJ, and DE as long as your account is registered in one of those states. I am a PA driver (Philly) 90% of my trips are from NJ. It's rare I drive in Philly.

Sorry to inform all employees but we can no longer purchase balloons for your "uberversary". We found it cheaper to buy stickers. It was real important for us to let you know how important you are to Uber family. Therapist will be on hand here at Uber headquarters for the next week for those self entitled snowflakes who are struggling with our decision to cut cost.
How do you even explain an expense like that? How embarrassing for them. Lol Actually I dont think they get embarrassed or stressed iver any of the bad publicity. Self entitled a$$ho!$s who think they are above the law and can get away with whatever, whenever they want. Unfortunately they have until now. Dara is on a powertrip with a big ego to take over the entire transportation industry. At some point he is going to have to answer to these investors. The amount of money in lawsuits, attorney fees, needless spending on BS, the list goes on. These investors will only deal with their BS for so long. Not that 200K would've put a dent in increasing drivers rates but what a slap in the face. Most drivers bust their butts out there to make money and Uber refuses to raise rates. Uber has admitted if they have to make drivers employees their business will be in big trouble. All they had to do was raise rates and throw a few perks out there. Most drivers would've been happy. It seems Dara would rather chop his [email protected]!!$ off then give drivers any more $. It just makes no sense. Makes me wonder if they have politicians in their pocket in CA or do they believe it will just go away? We will find next month .
Uberserge is on top of this out in CA. He will keep us updated. He is really working hard to help the drivers.
Chris you are smarter! If I was a big investor in Uber and seen this non sense I would lose it over something like this. What other crap are they wasting money on? I would love to see their books. Didnt they just hire Nelson Chai? If so did they do this prior to him or did he start this? I knew they had idiots working for them just didnt know it was this bad. Some of these intelligent people are book smart but dont have an ounce of common sense.
I can imagine. This article was just balloons. Would love to see the expense reports on what else these big exec's consider to be business related. Like the reporters "coked up tween with a no- limit credit card" reference. I am sure Uber employees are a bunch of "self entitled snowflakes"
My advice is to screenshot everything Uber sends you immediately and save them. Before I accuse Uber for being shady let me say this. It could be a few possibilities. There is talk that fares are going up. Depending on time of day and demand fares can fluctuate from one day to the next. Since it is only .50 it could also be some added tax that was tacked on. It is usually listed as "other". I dont know your drivers rates there but its possible the trips with the .50 increase took a few min more than the other days. As far as I know and its somewhere in TOS you are given the upfront price. If driver happens to take longer route or there is traffic they can raise the price. I suggest you screenshot everything that Uber sends you. Save it delete nothing. Check your trips each day against the other trips see how many miles come up and how many minutes it takes driver to get you there. See if there is a difference. If driver is more than (usually 10/12 min) away from your pick up location he gets paid a long pick up fee. Take a look at your receipts compare each day. Look for "other" & "long pick up fee". See if either of them show up.

I will then post my email for you and you are welcome to send me screenshot of 2 trips with the difference and I would be happy to take a look and see if I can give you better answer. Uber XL vehicles are SUV's, mini vans, or anything that has seating for 6 people with 6 seatbelts. My XL vehicle fits 7 and I have 7 seatbelts but that not every XL vehicle. These vehicles will have trunk room but sometimes can be limited in some vehicles. If you only have 4/5 people and luggage you should be good. Most SUV's and mini vans have seats that lay down to give you more trunk space. For example I would put 1 rider in front seat, 3 in 2nd row, and 1 in 3rd row. I could then put down 2 of my seats and have extra trunk room. If you are concerned order the XL vehicle call or text your driver once your request is accepted. Tell the driver you have 4/5 people with 5 med/big suitcases will they fit? That will give you peace of mind and you wont waste any time. Unless your suitcases are extra large or you have more than 5 there shouldn't be an issue. In the event you have really big luggage or more than 4/5 med pieces request 2 Uber X. Put 2/3 people in each car with their luggage. You should be fine with the XL vehicle. Just giving you a back up and worst case scenario plan:)
Here in PA every resident who owns a car needs to get it inspected. It's not a weird rideshare thing:) An emissions sticker and the inspection sticker every 12 mths. Emissions self explanatory, Inspection sticker certifies our brakes and tires are good, lights work, windshield isnt cracked, check engine light isnt on, registration is current, you have car insurance, car is safe to drive. NJ is similar but theirs is done every 2 yrs or older cars and 5 yrs on newer cars. This isnt being asked sarcastically but whats weird about an inspection? Doesn't every state have to get their cars inspected? If not guess it would be weird to you.🙂
I live in Philly but drive mostly in NJ. I've never was offered an airport promotion nor do I know any other drivers from Philly or NJ that are offered airport promotions. Are you a new driver? How long have you been driving? I drive to Philly, Newark, JFK, and LaGurdia. Not to find of the NY airports As a NJ driver you can drop off & pick up in NJ, PA, and DE. You can drop off in NY just cant pick up. Other than knowing the normal laws you do not have to do anything to drive in these states. Make sure you read Uber TOS for airoirt rides that you pickup and drop off. No special inspection in Philly. We get our car inspected once per year but that for everyones car just like NJ gets their cars inspected every 2yrs. If you have any other questions I will be happy to try and answer them:) I have been driving for 2 yrs mostly Uber (2200+) & Lyft (200+) trips.
I call BS on Lyft treating drivers better. I also call BS about Uber riders being "higher class" or "stuck up". However Uber passengers are slightly different. More vocal, ask for more (change the music, can you make a stop, can you drop my friend off a few blocks away?)I tend to get more rides from Uber. Lyft pick ups are usually further than 12 min away. More shared then pool requests. More XL on Uber than Lyft. Lyft riders never say they dont know how to do something in the app. Uber riders always have trouble (I cant find where to add stop, I dont know how to schedule a trip). I guess you can say some Uber riders are more needy and definately expect more:)

I know you will. Lyft is just as bad as Uber. They just hide behind Uber. Let Uber take all the crap when they are no better & do the same thing. They both treat the drivers the same way. One of them could've pulled ahead of the other in their little race to the top. All they had to do was raise the rates. They think riders are loyal that they prefer one or the other companies. Maybe years ago but now riders compare rates. Whoever is cheaper gets the request. Drivers could easily influence rider to use just Uber or Lyft both companies too stupid to see that.
It's really getting old. I was going to hang in until January. I start a new project but was hoping to still drive a day or 2 per week. Just getting tired of all the BS. This Uber Pro is doing nothing but forcing me (a non employee, an IC) to take rides I dont want. Uber then punishes me by knocking me off the app only to enter my password again & pick what car I am driving. How is this possible I dont work for them? Why should I be forced to accept request 20 min away, rider ratings below a 4.5, fake names, or the same request 3, 4, 5X (if I deny it the 1st time i am not accepting the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time)? I dont even want to log onto Uber anymore. Actually they log me out about 25X per day now. You should invite both company CEO's Dara and the Lyft CEO (sorry dont know his name) to come speak with you on National TV. Anything goes as far as questions. They wouldn't have the [email protected]!!$. Run with this. Put the pressure on. Maybe Uber and Lyft will both lose and you can be the one to take them down:) Can you text me tomorrow I have a question or 2 for you. It will take less than 5 min. Hey Serge, Lyft trying to school you? Lol Congrats! At least they reached out and offered to talk to you. Uber wouldn't come down off their high horse to interact with drivers:) Dara too good for that. You going to contact C Macklin? You need to go for it and make the contact.
Lyft could benefit by meeting with you & a few drivers. When has Uber or Lyft ever attempted to reach out to the drivers? You know the people who make the money for them, deal with the passengers day in and day out, know the real issues & problems. CEO's & their minions are intelligent enough to run these big companies but don't always have common sense or a clue what really goes on on or what is really needed. Oh wait Dastardly Dara does he "played" uber driver for a few hours. Do they care or is it all about how much $ they can stuff in their bank accounts? Makes you wonder.
How does Lyft not realize if they met with drivers, heard what our frustrations are, and tweaked a few things they could get the drivers respect & loyalty. Why not win the drivers over, get them on their side? If drivers were heard, given a little respect, we could all leave Uber:) Leave Uber driverless. That would be so awesome. Drivers could easily influence riders to dump Uber. Riders are not loyal to one company anymore. They just want a fair price and decent driver. I am not happy with Uber but Lyft just follows in their footsteps. Step the hell out of the Uber's shadow. Step up and bury Uber. I guess some companies dont mind being 2nd or in another companies shadow. Fix things, make changes, let drivers know they are appreciated. Everybody hates Dastardly Dara. You really dont hear of Lyfts CEO being hated:) I just dont get it. Raise rates for riders 15% at first & then 15/20% a few months down the line. They will pay it. Riders are hooked, its convenient, and they have come to depend on it. They will pay the increases. Increase drivers rates to what they were 2/3 yrs ago, make riders sign up on app with valid gov. issued ID & no fake names, and be transparent not sneaky, and hire some decent CS reps for when drivers have issues. Most drivers would be happy with these changes as most dont want to be employees. They wouldn't even have to give those small $10/$12 incentives. I would love to stick with one Company but which one? They are both the same. Different name, different logo, but just about everything else is the same. I had hopes for Lyft but they have faded:) Lyft needs to invite drivers to the table and they need to hear us. Its all up to you Serge! You have to go for it. Speak up. It was many cities all over the US. Mine was fixed last night. It all started Saturday night but mine didnt ladt long and was able to cash out. I am still missing a 2.5X surge on a 42.00 trip though. Think I am going to have to call them bevause they are not answering my messages. Thankfully I screenshoted .everything. Been screwed out of tolls, fares, surges, so now I screenshot everything save it for 10 days.
Too funny. Had a similar pick up but no surge, no tip, and probably no 5 stars either. 2 young 20 something drunk dudes stole a friends phone got into my car and the friend came out asking where the phone was. They replied on the table. He went back in house to get phone when my 2 riders said go, go, go so i did they paid for the ride. That got hysterical laughing one said to the other "she actually did it" WTH else was I supposed to do. They pd for the ride and told me to go. So I left. Dont know whatever happened with the phone. Another night 2 females had me pull off after they sent 2 guys back in the bar to get something they said they forgot. As long as the person that tells me to "go, go, go" requested and paid for the ride i am out of there. Their dollar, their account, their ride:) As long as they didnt do something illegal. I have had some really fun nights driving when I pick up my drunk riders. Dont do it much anymore. Mostly families, business men & women to airport. They could careless what music you play, some sleep, some work (although I have to admit when they sleep its nice:) My drunk riders crank up the music and we have fun. Miss those rides sometimes.
It would be fun to have people get in and have you drive around doing stupid/fun stuff as long as its legal:)
This happened to me quite a few times. This particular night I get a request for Uber X I can seat 4 safely. I pull up there are 3 people they say we are waiting for one more. I am paying no attention to back seat they say ok we are good I start trip get 5 blocks from pick up look in rear view mirror I have 4 in back 1 in front. So what do I do? Do I say something? Do I end trip there and boot them out? I am sure you are all saying I would of. Lol There is 5 of them one of me, oh forgot to mention I am not in a very good neighborhood. Do I call police? I probably won't get past 91 before one of them can take my phone and if I can connect with 911 chances are police will not be there before I am beaten and my car is on cinder blocks. So I take my time ride the right lane nice and slow, stay away from traffic. We get to destination still in another crappy hood. I quickly end trip. The person they are meeting doesn't answer their call so they are not moving out of my car. Uh hello trips over. So they continue to sit in my car for 10 min deciding what to do. Fnally I get another rider so I find my voice and get the courage to say "I got to go" . Still another 2 min. go by. Finally guy comes out and they get their stuff out of my trunk and go on their way. Now I pull up with doors locked and don't unlock until I know how many are getting in my car. I've learned quite a few lessons driving for Uber this past year.
I've picked up strippers twice. One stripper had a fit & started screaming at me because I didnt pick her up at stripper enterance. The app put me in front of the place. I had never been there before. She called me screaming so I drive around to where she told me but there were people all over plus 2 entrances/exits so I ask the first female I see if she was my passenger. She ignores me then I see Mr. Big and Beefy with the tight muscle head shirt on wave me over. She opens door starts screaming why didnt you come here 1st & why were you talking to those people? I try to explain that the pick up location put me up front and what people are you talking about? She screams the people in the car. I reply "what people, what car" . She screams again the people in the car. I am getting annoyed now, because she hasnt stopped screaming at me and what people in what car not a clue who she was referring to. I should've left when I was eligible for cancel fee. We drive a mile GPS says make left turn screaming stripper barks order i will tell you where to go. We go another mile another barking order "pull into that gas station I need something". She needed something all right some manners or a foot up her ass. I pull in to this gas station that is packed has a line of cars to get in (will explain the line of cars at 3am at a gas station another time). I finally get into lot she gets out and I plot my escape. Why should I take her screaming, order barking ass anywhere else they dont pay me enough for this? I put the car in drive ready to pull out and my guilty conscience kicks in. Its 3am you cant do that. Then the little devil on my shoulder says go for it. Good conscience won I stayed but when she got back in I had a little talk with her. By the time i dropped her off she was happy. So happy when she got out she said "i am going to give you 5 stars". I wanted to reply "stick your 5 stars so far up (that thing you shake for money)that they shoot out of your mouth and hand over some of those bills you made tonight. She was out right rude and bossy.
The 2nd stripper I picked up didnt yell at me but she also barked orders. Wont get into much detail as I just wrote a book about stripper #1. Her barking orders were hello as she entered car order #1"put this radio station on, order #2 turn volumn up ill tell you when to stop" #3 dont speak to me while music is on #4 put the heat up. No please no thank you ànd you guessed it no tip. Last but not least we pull up to destination my app shows end trip you've arrived i end it wait for her to get the hell out. But she needs to bark 1 more order #5 "I've never been here before just sit here until I can find my friend then you can leave". Must be a stripper thing to bark orders and not tip. These 2 were in my first month of driving they taught me a few things that night. No, one of those things was not how to work a stripper pole. Thanks for sharing R Paulson. This time I pick up 3 men in there 30's from India at a strip club in Bensalem PA. They get in dont seem really intoxicated. We have a coversation then they are talking amongst themselves. I look at GPS. Its putting me on PA Turnpike. Now where ever I get off I am not going to know where I am so obviously relying on GPS completely. Go up a few exists get off. Its dark as hell. I swear Bucks County suburbs doesnt like or is too cheap to put up street lights. Everything is so dark you see nothing when you look behind you. At this times roads are not only dark but no traffic around. The guys start speaking in their language now, up to this point their conversations were all English even to each other. Before I go further I was under impression destination was one of their homes. Now I have to turn into a dark business complex. Everything closed no one around. My mind thinks they are plotting to hack me up into little pieces lol This is just too shady. No houses, everything dark, no people, no cars. I am so ready to turn around at this point but had no idea where I could go or what i would say to them about turning around. Hearts pounding, nervous. Drive about .5 mile and up on my right was a Hotel. Never so grateful to see one. This was my 2nd experience on a ride that really scared me being a female driver. I think after all my stripper, strip club experiences (as I have 2 other time I had a pick up) I need to stay away from those places. Those rides are either miserable, scarey or just plain strange. Do you think Uber would deactivate me for not driving to or picking up from those places? Lol Yes definately.
I think you should be able to. I have had a few riders who are happy to see a woman driver. I even had a male who said he would rather have a woman because a male driver may be able to over power a male rider. Some of these young girls pass out from drinking. Some are so drunk that a male driver could do something and she probably wouldnt remember. If these women who got raped had a female than the rape would've never happened. Young women tell me all the time some of their male drivers hit on them some are just creepy make them feel uncomfortable. One young woman said her driver bought her cigs alcohol, and tried to kiss her after ride was over. Women tend not to be criminals, rapist, etc. I would think they wouldnt be hitting on male passengers to the point that the msle rider is uncomfortable. Unfortunately these women who have had these issues dont report driver because they are afraid he will come back to their house.
Lilly, Can you please clarify or correct me if I am wrong as I dont want to be giving my riders wrong info. If you schedule a ride more than 60 min. in advance your fare is locked in. If you schedule a ride in less than 60 min. in advance Uber gives you an estimate. Then when you are matched with a driver fare could increase if there is a surge in your area. Thank you.
Uber and Lyft base fares on the longest route to riders destination (time & miles). Most Drivers take the shortest route. Driver is paid for the miles they drove & the amt. of time it took. I arrive at riders destination switch off GPS & go back to Uber or Lyft app. It will say 5 to 15 min until destination. I do the speed limit, I use WAZE app, my car doesn't fly, and its not an amphibious car. Passenger got charged for that 5 to 15 min even though it didnt take that long and they get charged for the miles I didnt travel. This is why drivers are complaining. Uber and Lyft are making a few dollars less than us or the same amount. Nothing we can do as we agreed to be pd per mile and time. Upfront pricing scam. What sucks is riders think we are getting 75%/80% of the fare so they may not be tipping for that reason. Especially on long trips that are 50.00 to 150.00. I am driving for Uber as I text this. When I have some free time later today I will post some screen shots so passengers can see whats going on. O will also screen shot my next trip that says we have X amt of time until destination when we are all ready there.
