This happened to me quite a few times. This particular night I get a request for Uber X I can seat 4 safely. I pull up there are 3 people they say we are waiting for one more. I am paying no attention to back seat they say ok we are good I start trip get 5 blocks from pick up look in rear view mirror I have 4 in back 1 in front. So what do I do? Do I say something? Do I end trip there and boot them out? I am sure you are all saying I would of. Lol There is 5 of them one of me, oh forgot to mention I am not in a very good neighborhood. Do I call police? I probably won't get past 91 before one of them can take my phone and if I can connect with 911 chances are police will not be there before I am beaten and my car is on cinder blocks. So I take my time ride the right lane nice and slow, stay away from traffic. We get to destination still in another crappy hood. I quickly end trip. The person they are meeting doesn't answer their call so they are not moving out of my car. Uh hello trips over. So they continue to sit in my car for 10 min deciding what to do. Fnally I get another rider so I find my voice and get the courage to say "I got to go" . Still another 2 min. go by. Finally guy comes out and they get their stuff out of my trunk and go on their way. Now I pull up with doors locked and don't unlock until I know how many are getting in my car. I've learned quite a few lessons driving for Uber this past year.

I've picked up strippers twice. One stripper had a fit & started screaming at me because I didnt pick her up at stripper enterance. The app put me in front of the place. I had never been there before. She called me screaming so I drive around to where she told me but there were people all over plus 2 entrances/exits so I ask the first female I see if she was my passenger. She ignores me then I see Mr. Big and Beefy with the tight muscle head shirt on wave me over. She opens door starts screaming why didnt you come here 1st & why were you talking to those people? I try to explain that the pick up location put me up front and what people are you talking about? She screams the people in the car. I reply "what people, what car" . She screams again the people in the car. I am getting annoyed now, because she hasnt stopped screaming at me and what people in what car not a clue who she was referring to. I should've left when I was eligible for cancel fee. We drive a mile GPS says make left turn screaming stripper barks order i will tell you where to go. We go another mile another barking order "pull into that gas station I need something". She needed something all right some manners or a foot up her ass. I pull in to this gas station that is packed has a line of cars to get in (will explain the line of cars at 3am at a gas station another time). I finally get into lot she gets out and I plot my escape. Why should I take her screaming, order barking ass anywhere else they dont pay me enough for this? I put the car in drive ready to pull out and my guilty conscience kicks in. Its 3am you cant do that. Then the little devil on my shoulder says go for it. Good conscience won I stayed but when she got back in I had a little talk with her. By the time i dropped her off she was happy. So happy when she got out she said "i am going to give you 5 stars". I wanted to reply "stick your 5 stars so far up (that thing you shake for money)that they shoot out of your mouth and hand over some of those bills you made tonight. She was out right rude and bossy.
The 2nd stripper I picked up didnt yell at me but she also barked orders. Wont get into much detail as I just wrote a book about stripper #1. Her barking orders were hello as she entered car order #1"put this radio station on, order #2 turn volumn up ill tell you when to stop" #3 dont speak to me while music is on #4 put the heat up. No please no thank you ànd you guessed it no tip. Last but not least we pull up to destination my app shows end trip you've arrived i end it wait for her to get the hell out. But she needs to bark 1 more order #5 "I've never been here before just sit here until I can find my friend then you can leave". Must be a stripper thing to bark orders and not tip. These 2 were in my first month of driving they taught me a few things that night. No, one of those things was not how to work a stripper pole. Thanks for sharing R Paulson. This time I pick up 3 men in there 30's from India at a strip club in Bensalem PA. They get in dont seem really intoxicated. We have a coversation then they are talking amongst themselves. I look at GPS. Its putting me on PA Turnpike. Now where ever I get off I am not going to know where I am so obviously relying on GPS completely. Go up a few exists get off. Its dark as hell. I swear Bucks County suburbs doesnt like or is too cheap to put up street lights. Everything is so dark you see nothing when you look behind you. At this times roads are not only dark but no traffic around. The guys start speaking in their language now, up to this point their conversations were all English even to each other. Before I go further I was under impression destination was one of their homes. Now I have to turn into a dark business complex. Everything closed no one around. My mind thinks they are plotting to hack me up into little pieces lol This is just too shady. No houses, everything dark, no people, no cars. I am so ready to turn around at this point but had no idea where I could go or what i would say to them about turning around. Hearts pounding, nervous. Drive about .5 mile and up on my right was a Hotel. Never so grateful to see one. This was my 2nd experience on a ride that really scared me being a female driver. I think after all my stripper, strip club experiences (as I have 2 other time I had a pick up) I need to stay away from those places. Those rides are either miserable, scarey or just plain strange. Do you think Uber would deactivate me for not driving to or picking up from those places? Lol Yes definately.

I think you should be able to. I have had a few riders who are happy to see a woman driver. I even had a male who said he would rather have a woman because a male driver may be able to over power a male rider. Some of these young girls pass out from drinking. Some are so drunk that a male driver could do something and she probably wouldnt remember. If these women who got raped had a female than the rape would've never happened. Young women tell me all the time some of their male drivers hit on them some are just creepy make them feel uncomfortable. One young woman said her driver bought her cigs alcohol, and tried to kiss her after ride was over. Women tend not to be criminals, rapist, etc. I would think they wouldnt be hitting on male passengers to the point that the msle rider is uncomfortable. Unfortunately these women who have had these issues dont report driver because they are afraid he will come back to their house.

Lilly, Can you please clarify or correct me if I am wrong as I dont want to be giving my riders wrong info. If you schedule a ride more than 60 min. in advance your fare is locked in. If you schedule a ride in less than 60 min. in advance Uber gives you an estimate. Then when you are matched with a driver fare could increase if there is a surge in your area. Thank you.

Uber and Lyft base fares on the longest route to riders destination (time & miles). Most Drivers take the shortest route. Driver is paid for the miles they drove & the amt. of time it took. I arrive at riders destination switch off GPS & go back to Uber or Lyft app. It will say 5 to 15 min until destination. I do the speed limit, I use WAZE app, my car doesn't fly, and its not an amphibious car. Passenger got charged for that 5 to 15 min even though it didnt take that long and they get charged for the miles I didnt travel. This is why drivers are complaining. Uber and Lyft are making a few dollars less than us or the same amount. Nothing we can do as we agreed to be pd per mile and time. Upfront pricing scam. What sucks is riders think we are getting 75%/80% of the fare so they may not be tipping for that reason. Especially on long trips that are 50.00 to 150.00. I am driving for Uber as I text this. When I have some free time later today I will post some screen shots so passengers can see whats going on. O will also screen shot my next trip that says we have X amt of time until destination when we are all ready there.
I do like the new statements but dont like that they took out what rider pays. I re read my post after your comment I thought I explained it that way but apparently not:) I fixed the wording. You should know me better than that. Lol When do I agree with Uber or Lyft? When do I like what they do? LolThat should be left in there. They lie anyway so who knows if what they put in there prior was accurate. We all ready know they lie about what rider pays for surge and lyfts bonus.

Go to "Ride" top left corner. Use fare calculator to get fare (estimate) and see what is available in your area. You are going to need to request at least 2 vehicles.
Uber X and Lyft - 4 passengers
Uber XL and Lyft XL - 6 maybe 7 passengers but bank on 6 to be safe.
1st screenshot is my driver app that I am not online right now. 2nd screenshot is Lyft rider app. I show up at blue arrow or blue arrow & dot. Both Uber and Lyft and on both Driver and rider app.
I used to get weekly report on % of smooth braking and acceleration.
Its running in the background. I just posted about it on your other thread. I just found this out recently. There is a way to turn it off on an Android. Sure you can on IPhone also.
I havent heard that one. How are they watching our own personal dashcams or our camera on our phone? I dont give Uber app permission to use anything but my location. However I have to go in and switch something off because it still runs in the background. They know where I am when I am not on the app. I just realized it. I looked into it last night.
They have been shady since day 1 dont trust anything they do.
He also could lie and say the alcohol contsiner is open. He dont seem like a stand up guy.
I've had suspicions:) I am very picky with which ridesI accept. I choose the rides I do for safety reasons along with the obvious reason to make $. Being a female driver driving over night hours it can be somewhat frightening at times. Driving drinks home can be annoying as no matter my age or the drunk males age they still hit on you. I usually clean my car and take a break from 1am until 230am or I only accept long trips. I dont accept pool or shared rides for safety reasons, my ratings fall, and I drive X & XL for me to accept a pool it barely covers my gas. I feel that XL drivers should be able to opt out of pool. However I will take a long trip on Pool but I shut it down for additional riders (again safety). There are days where I barely get a pool request then for the next few days I see nothing but pool. Since Uber Pro has come to my market Uber will totally log me out of the app after declining 2 to 5 rides in a row. I have to sign back in with my password then click online then it will prompt me to pick a vehicle (I have 2 on platform although I havent used the car in over a year). Only then will it allow me back online. This all takes time and if I am on a highway doing 70mph I have to wait to get back online. This went on for 3 weeks then it stopped. However it started again up again this time it got worse every 2 to 3 request declined it would log me out. It also added another annoying process. I would be logged off after 2 declined go though logging back in, picking the car, and then it prompted me to take a selfie. Normally once every few mths i would be asked to which i understand why. Taking the selfie itself was not the issue but Uber took it further. In 5 hrs I was asked to take 4 selfies Two were 10 min apart and one with a passenger in the car. This went on for 3 days. I called Uber 2X and you know where that got me. Was just like talking to my dog:) At least I can understand my dog:) I still did not change my driving habits and so far the last 2 days the selfies stopped and they are no longer logging me out as frequently. I have talked to other drivers and no one else experiences this. I've also picked up riders that tried getting an Uber and were told no drivers in the area. They then switch to Lyft and get me. Makes no sense as I am on Uber and Lyft sitting in same spot when I get the Lyft ping. Yet Uber says there are no drivers. I dont see Uber wanting to lose that ride but why are they saying no available drivers when I am clearly in the area? This happened on 4 45 min + trips in 3 days. Go figure. There are a few other strange things that I cannot explain that happen but I think you get my point.
Conclusion
I definitely think Uber more so than Lyft has things buried in their software to get us to drive the way they want us to. Perfect example annoy me enough with selfies & logging me out constantly that I stop declining rides. Make me go through all that BS so I give up and start excepting every ride. Do I believe they can target drivers to change their habits? Your damn right. To what extent they go to I dont know but I do think they try to manipulate drivers whenever possible. They use Algorithms & AI so I would assume its possible. Just make sure your apps are updated. They have had a few app updates recently in a short period of time. If you are updated and it keeps happening all I can say is it wouldn't surprise me.
Click "Ride" at top left if page. It will take you to the fare estimator here in ride.guru . You can get the fare amt. on rideshare available (Uber & Lyft, taxi, etc).

What time was your driver supposed to be there? Were you at your door or outside waiting? Did the driver wait 5 min? Uber doesnt charge a fee unless the driver waits for 5 min or more. If you were not ready or made the driver wait 5 min or more then he had every right to cancel. Not fair to driver that you ate making him/her wait. You are supposed to be waiting and ready to go when the driver pulls up. If not you are costing the driver another ride, possibly a better one. If you were not ready and waiting you made yourself late. Poor planning on your part isnt the drivers fault.
Where you looking to drive in Philly? Any specific hood or dont matter? Anywhere you rather stay out of? What tyoe of rides you looking for? Shitty short rides (aka SSR's) or Long Trips ( aka LT's) 40 + on Uber or 30/45+ on Lyft? What is your ideal trip length? 5am until what time? What tyoe of $ are you looking to make just a rough estimate? I live in Philly and do some of my driving there. Are you on both apps? Are you new to driving on the apps? Asking these questions so I can try to hopefully help you better and send you where you want to go.
It seams like it. The other one her husband leaves for 5 days out of the week to travel to a "busier city" is what he tells his wife. His wife sees his car sitting at a house for hours and hours. According to some Rideshare FB groups & forums guys get offers all the time. Some of the stories these guys tell sounds like they are dreaming. I have been invited into peoples homes and to go to bars with others. I get hit on by 21+ yr old young men. I am 54 I assume they are drunk, its dark, and they only see me from the back as I am old enough to be their mom or grandmom lol. Thats what I usually tell them and they back off but there are a few that persisted. Its really strange IMO to use Uber as a driver or rider as a dating service. Uber is getting into everything surprised they havent added Uber dating service. Hook up with your rider or hook up with your driver especially ines that all reafy have a significant other. Lol
Sorry about the loss of your father. You dont know me and I hope you will not take offense. He is taking advantage of you during a very difficult time in your life. He knows this. He feels you will not leave him and believe the lies he tells you. He is blantantly lying to you. You can do so much better and you deserve so much better. I know it can be difficult as you have been with him for awhile but dont waste anymore of your life on him. He is a disgusting human being doing this knowing what you have been through. SMDH There are better more honest men out there that wouldn't take advantage of you. He lies and cheats. He is so not worth it. If you click on "RIDE" at the top left it will take you to the Free Fare Estimator. You can put your location and destination in. It will give you fares for rideshare and taxi service in that area.
I agree. Food is always room temp. No thanks. I like my food hot and not reheated in microwave. Especially for what your paying. I ordered a sm. pizza, lg pizza, and cheese fries for my kids the other night. From phone call to place order to the restaurants delivery guy pulling up 22 min. The resturant is 7/10 min from my house. Thats service:) Food was hot!!! The app delivery wouldve take 30/45 min. Food would've been cold.
Thats 2 threads now on Uber drivers possibly cheating on their significant others with riders. WTH is going on:) That is the last thing I am thinking of when driving. Dating, screwing, whatever with my rider. Must be a man thing:) lol Not trying to offend. Lol
Driver can do what they want. In my market had i stayed on the app I would've made $10.35. Hardky enough to get me to sit for an hour even if he was buying lunch. Was it a long ride over 45 min? If so then msybe the driver figured she would make $ on the way back rather then head back empty. The only way I would've waited was if I stayed on the app made the $10.35 and the ride was a 45+ there and a 45+ back. Also knowing that I probably wouldnt of got a ride back wouldve made it more worth wait. Last thing is I would've opted for a tip verses the lunch if that was a choice. Is the BF nice looking? Since you are dating him I assume you will say yes. Do you trust him? How old is he? How old was the driver? Having lunch with my rider them paying for it (even though I had to wait) would've been awkward IMO. I've had some good rides where I had fun, great conversation, etc... with a rider but having lunch with them little strange. I've been asked out for drinks in an airport when dropping off my rider, asked to come in their house for drinks, and my favorite asked in house by 2 females & a male for shots, smoke some weed, and snort some adderal:) Of course I declined not my idea of fun. Maybe its just me as I am 54 yrs old but no way am I going anywhere with my rider. His driver was a female sounds like she was up for more if it was an option. Maybe not right then but at a later time. I know there are drivers that will go out with their riders or have a drink. I see you have a concern and I think its justified. Unless you totally can trust your bf. How long were they out for lunch? The big question was it a 45+ min ride? If so that can explain things bettter. I woukd more understand why she waited. Look at his app driver pic will still be in it. Maybe that can help. Curious now:) Although I hope you can trust him and she was just hoping for a good $ tip for the wait. At the end of the survey it states "we will optimize your rides/service soon" or something close to that. How are you going to accomplish that? If this is Uber or Lyft putting the survey out which I know thats not the case they dont listen to drivers. One of the questions should be about pay, drivers rates, and the so called perks we are offered by Uber & Lyft. Safety for the driver is a big issue right now but no one seems to address that. Maybe if we felt safer we wouldnt decline a lot of trip request. For example 1am request comes through Lyft rider has a 4.8 which is kind of low for Lyft. Riders name is "D!@k$w@llower" only its written out correctly. Its 1:30 am, low rating, and fake name. Who wants to pick them up? Not many drivers as his request came back to me 4X over 20/25 min. He is probably still waiting for a ride. His dumbass couldn't figure out that the name he chose was making drivers uncomfortable. Maybe if some of these safety issues were addressed and rates were somewhat better drivers would put more effort out there. Not to mention the lies drivers are catching Uber and Lyft in on the fares. Put a survey out on that:)
