  • He supposedly had no criminal record. If that is true than no Uber should not be held responsible. Although they need to perform better background checks. Third party background checks are not the best source of info. FBI fingerprinted checks should be performed. Not that this gives that piece of shit the right to rape this woman but WTH is wrong with her friend? Why would you put her in an Uber when she was passed out? She sent her Uber pool. Great friend. Ladies choose your friends wisely and stop being so intoxicated that you are either passed out or too drunk to take care of yourself.

  • Men dont always think when it comes to women. They were probably pretty and flirty:) Hope he thinks before he does something so stupid again.  Feel bad for the dude. If I stop at store for any rider they go in. I sure as hell dont leave my car with passengers in it and definately wouldnt leave my keys in the car. Why didnt they go in the store? Were they underage to buy cigs or alcohol? Poor dude.

  • I got the email back in October. I signed up. Obviously not expecting anything. They said bonus, perks, etc... I would hear from them when needed so far nothing.  I've recently got an email again offering bonuses in bad weather. Still havent actually seen anything. Although we havent had too many bad storms. Keep me posted if you get anything during a storm.

  • 200.00 to be a member, 200.00 per month and 150.00 annual fee.  Lol

  • Lets for 1 min imagine that this was real. TRYP would have to lower their fares below Uber and Lyft say around 20/30%. Those numbers sound familiar? So drivers pay 200.00 per month to get 100% of the fare that is 20/30% less than Uber and Lyft = drivers making same amount on fares as they do on Uber and Lyft BUT TRYP will have very few riders. Driver would be lucky to make 20.00 for the month. $550.00 to start paid by driver. Do these people really think all drivers are dumb enough to fall for this BS? There will be a few desperate ones maybe but yes SCAM written all over it. There is nothing positive anywhere about the company and founder. There os no apps no nothing. I hope people realize this before they hand over 200.00. Dipatched driver got all defensive and an attitude because I had the nerve to ask questions instead of just handing over 200.00. He wants to sign people but tells you to look up info when the make believe website comes out. Dont you think you should know about the company your handing money over to?  This makes me want to sign up immediately "other drivers paid their money knowing its not refundable". Dispatched driver is a sucker or in on the scam along with the other 2 that posted threads on site.  I just can't even respond to this anymore its a joke. DD not going to find a single sign up here as we brains and common sense. Troll elsewhere

  • My daughter took an Uber XL with some friends a few months ago.  Normally the trip runs between 28.00/37.00. She was headed home and called to see if I could get them as her ride home was 122.00. I went on my drivers app to see what the surge was because normally at that time of night in that area its maybe a $10/$15 surge. On my app it was showing 10.00. So at most ride should've been $38/$57. Where was the rest of the money going? Not to the driver they were getting the normal price plus $10 surge. How can we trust Dara? All these so called pro rewards are geared towards the driver accepting 85% or higher and not cancelling rides. The rewards are not even that great most of them drivers will not even use. You want to send me to college pay for a Community College at least not some online college. How are they going to send high rated drivers to the diamond riders (or whatever platinum riders)  without increasing wait times? Average driver rating is said to be 4.80. My rating is 4.94 /4.95 as a driver. My trip requests range from 4.39 to 4.90. If I get 5 star rider its because they are new to platform or dont use it much. There are still sketchy things going on with fares. I dont see how we can trust either company.

5 years ago in  Do drivers have hidden interior vehicle cameras?

I worked Home Health for a year. Some homes had cameras some didnt. The families by law had to tell me if they had them. I liked the idea because older people can fall, lose things, forget things, and tell stories that may not be true or accurate. I will say for the first few weeks it was awkward. I hate my pic being taken so much so that my kids always say "when you die we will not be able to make up those poster boards you put up in the funeral home with pics of you".  Lol  It's not about doing anything wrong but it was just knowing that someone could be watching your every move. I worked 11pm - 7am. Even though it was expected, some nights I would be sitting there reading a book or watching tv.  If patient was sleeping not much else to do. I would feel guilty because I was getting paid to sit and do nothing for 1 of my patients that slept all night. Obviously she still needed someone there as she was bed ridden. Had there been a fire emergency, or needed something I was there. Still was awkward. Had another patient who was up most of the night definately didnt sit and do nothing most nights. On the nights he would sleep for an hour or 2 I would dust, mop the floor, clean something, and do wash. Once I was there for a few weeks it became more comfortable and never gave cameras another thought.

I can totally understand riders being uncomfortable in fear they will end up on you tube:) Although drivers are not allowed to post them on social media anymore. I do notice riders still posting vids of Uber drivers though.

I wonder if she got tips?

  • Uber XL and Lyft XL can fit 7. It's a few dollars more than a car (Uber X) but still reasonable. I suggest once driver accepts your request call or text them just to make sure their vehicle has room for 7 with 7 seatbelts. Most should but not all. If driver has Honda Pilot it will fit 7. You may want to mention to driver that you have a 4 yr old but no safety seat (i assume you are not carrying around a seat in Disney). Some drivers will take without car seat some wont. It's against the law and can be dangerous.  By telling driver ahead of time it will save you both time and aggravation. He can say yes its fine or no I prefer not to. You can then request another car. Time saved and no cancel fee. The other option although definately more costly is Uber Black SUV with car seat. It will be 10.00 extra and the ride itself is on the expensive side.  Use fare comparison calculator that Lilly suggested on this site.

Right there with you on that one. Guess I'll have to look her up.

  • When I first signed up for Uber I never finished the process. They constantly sent me texts and emails. Apparently they did this to many others causing someone to start a class action lawsuit. I received a notice one day with a code that automatically named me in suit.  I did have an option to opt out. I just ignored it didnt think nothing of it. Less than 6 mths later I received a check in the mail for $125.00.  Check out link below. Uber constantly sends texts, emails, and notices while we drive. Makes no sense.

For 2 weeks while this went on I was never asked for a selfie or to verify when just going on my app. It was only when I was driving on the road. Should've been asked when I would first log on. My profile pic was "ok" for 7 months then all of a sudden they said it was no good. Nothing I sent worked. I would take the pic they would allow me on the app and then while driving i was asked to send another profile pic or selfie. This happened on trips with riders in car. I wouldnt be able to see GPS or route to riders destination until I pulled over and resent another one. It was annoying, embarrassing, unprofessional, and dangerous. Apparently people start class action suits over every little thing. Some definately should be sued but others its just crazy why people sue. Some suits you need proof others you do. Through the Uber class action lawsuit I was directed to this site. If you get a chance check it out. It's interesting.

  • Yes. I guess there have  been instances that people sign up and let other people use their account or they are trying to prevent that.

  • Agreed. Maybe it would give them some good press for once.

  • Dont mind them doing it. Understand that some drivers may use other drivers accounts, have someone sign up and let someone else use their account. As Wes said do it when you start out or when you are sitting waiting for trips. Cant wait to see cops face when he asks why you were swerving. You respond "I was sending a selfie to Uber":) Not that I do it while driving. I do pull over.

That was my response also:)  I think that one would be even funnier.

  • They have been doing to me every 3/4 months with the exception of that time i mentioned with old profile pic. In the beginning it was monthly then it slowed down but they would only do it when i first started my shift. Now when they do it it will be after a few trips when i am flying down 95. So annoying:)
