A 45 miles will take 45~60 minutes to drive. Such a trip should be about $55 to 70 in most areas. This is without considering for surge pricing which can raise the fare during busy periods.

Great point! I should probably clarify that in my response. In cases like those, the passenger could ask for the driver to wait, so such a round trip would technically be considered as a "single ride" in the eyes of Uber. This way, it would be much cheaper as he or she wouldn't be stuck with two flags too (initial) fees.
Good call. I will add to my answer.
I would watch out for surge pricing at these events. It obviously depends on the timing of your departure, but at an event like this when many people exiting at the same time, you should at least plan for a 1.5x to 2.0x type surge.
Yes, UberVan should be available around Haneda Airport, and they can hold up to 6 passengers. However, if you have a lot of luggages, this may be a bit tight, as you can only utilize the trunk space. (Generally, if you have an empty seat, you can place your luggage there, but with 6, you won't have an empty seat.
It's periodical and also released in certain markets and countries.
That's a pretty good idea. If you can come up with an affordable solution, you may have a good business on hand
Hi, Andy,
One you enter the airport premises, follow the signs for the "Rideshare Hold Lot." You can find the map here:

Here's their announcement on TechCrunch: Zimride's Lyft is Going to Give Uber Some Lower-Priced Competition
Take a trip down memory lane
Zimride faces a number of upcoming competitors. Uber has mostly stuck to the higher-end of the market with private drivers and black cars, but there are signs it is moving downmarket. There is also another app that hasn’t publicly launched but is in beta around San Francisco called Sidecar. It has an extremely similar model.
It could be the coverage in your city. This feature is only available in certain cities. (i.e. 30 across US)
Good catch! I should remove my post. I thought the original poster was asking about the various gates at Disney World because those are the controversial spots. Thanks for pointing this out.
The 2018 version is here.

Hi, JessMin99, just to clarify, the surge pricing that was incurred by the first pickup does apply to all passengers who subsequently get on. You may consider this not being fair, like in the scenario you mention, but that is the current policy. This is true with both Lyft Line and UberPool.
EDIT: Uber nows applies differe surge multiplier for each passenger who gets on. Driver gets paid the average. You may be interested in reading this article: How does Surge Pricing or Prime Time work on UberPool or Lyft Line? (The carpooling options)
The drivers are supposed to decline service to your friend if you do not specify this in advance. From what I hear, this isn't being enforced by many drivers, but there can be awkward moments, if the driver show up at a location, and the car is full...
Up to 15 minutes in advance. :)
This is actually useful for, say, when you are about to leave a friend's house, and you want a few minutes to get ready.
There are also rideshare for kids who do transport children. Here's a list. Do you have one in your city?
