This happened to me quite a few times. This particular night I get a request for Uber X I can seat 4 safely. I pull up there are 3 people they say we are waiting for one more. I am paying no attention to back seat they say ok we are good I start trip get 5 blocks from pick up look in rear view mirror I have 4 in back 1 in front. So what do I do? Do I say something? Do I end trip there and boot them out? I am sure you are all saying I would of. Lol There is 5 of them one of me, oh forgot to mention I am not in a very good neighborhood. Do I call police? I probably won't get past 91 before one of them can take my phone and if I can connect with 911 chances are police will not be there before I am beaten and my car is on cinder blocks. So I take my time ride the right lane nice and slow, stay away from traffic. We get to destination still in another crappy hood. I quickly end trip. The person they are meeting doesn't answer their call so they are not moving out of my car. Uh hello trips over. So they continue to sit in my car for 10 min deciding what to do. Fnally I get another rider so I find my voice and get the courage to say "I got to go" . Still another 2 min. go by. Finally guy comes out and they get their stuff out of my trunk and go on their way. Now I pull up with doors locked and don't unlock until I know how many are getting in my car. I've learned quite a few lessons driving for Uber this past year.

I've picked up strippers twice. One stripper had a fit & started screaming at me because I didnt pick her up at stripper enterance. The app put me in front of the place. I had never been there before. She called me screaming so I drive around to where she told me but there were people all over plus 2 entrances/exits so I ask the first female I see if she was my passenger. She ignores me then I see Mr. Big and Beefy with the tight muscle head shirt on wave me over. She opens door starts screaming why didnt you come here 1st & why were you talking to those people? I try to explain that the pick up location put me up front and what people are you talking about? She screams the people in the car. I reply "what people, what car" . She screams again the people in the car. I am getting annoyed now, because she hasnt stopped screaming at me and what people in what car not a clue who she was referring to. I should've left when I was eligible for cancel fee. We drive a mile GPS says make left turn screaming stripper barks order i will tell you where to go. We go another mile another barking order "pull into that gas station I need something". She needed something all right some manners or a foot up her ass. I pull in to this gas station that is packed has a line of cars to get in (will explain the line of cars at 3am at a gas station another time). I finally get into lot she gets out and I plot my escape. Why should I take her screaming, order barking ass anywhere else they dont pay me enough for this? I put the car in drive ready to pull out and my guilty conscience kicks in. Its 3am you cant do that. Then the little devil on my shoulder says go for it. Good conscience won I stayed but when she got back in I had a little talk with her. By the time i dropped her off she was happy. So happy when she got out she said "i am going to give you 5 stars". I wanted to reply "stick your 5 stars so far up (that thing you shake for money)that they shoot out of your mouth and hand over some of those bills you made tonight. She was out right rude and bossy.
The 2nd stripper I picked up didnt yell at me but she also barked orders. Wont get into much detail as I just wrote a book about stripper #1. Her barking orders were hello as she entered car order #1"put this radio station on, order #2 turn volumn up ill tell you when to stop" #3 dont speak to me while music is on #4 put the heat up. No please no thank you ànd you guessed it no tip. Last but not least we pull up to destination my app shows end trip you've arrived i end it wait for her to get the hell out. But she needs to bark 1 more order #5 "I've never been here before just sit here until I can find my friend then you can leave". Must be a stripper thing to bark orders and not tip. These 2 were in my first month of driving they taught me a few things that night. No, one of those things was not how to work a stripper pole. Thanks for sharing R Paulson. This time I pick up 3 men in there 30's from India at a strip club in Bensalem PA. They get in dont seem really intoxicated. We have a coversation then they are talking amongst themselves. I look at GPS. Its putting me on PA Turnpike. Now where ever I get off I am not going to know where I am so obviously relying on GPS completely. Go up a few exists get off. Its dark as hell. I swear Bucks County suburbs doesnt like or is too cheap to put up street lights. Everything is so dark you see nothing when you look behind you. At this times roads are not only dark but no traffic around. The guys start speaking in their language now, up to this point their conversations were all English even to each other. Before I go further I was under impression destination was one of their homes. Now I have to turn into a dark business complex. Everything closed no one around. My mind thinks they are plotting to hack me up into little pieces lol This is just too shady. No houses, everything dark, no people, no cars. I am so ready to turn around at this point but had no idea where I could go or what i would say to them about turning around. Hearts pounding, nervous. Drive about .5 mile and up on my right was a Hotel. Never so grateful to see one. This was my 2nd experience on a ride that really scared me being a female driver. I think after all my stripper, strip club experiences (as I have 2 other time I had a pick up) I need to stay away from those places. Those rides are either miserable, scarey or just plain strange. Do you think Uber would deactivate me for not driving to or picking up from those places? Lol Yes definately.

I think you should be able to. I have had a few riders who are happy to see a woman driver. I even had a male who said he would rather have a woman because a male driver may be able to over power a male rider. Some of these young girls pass out from drinking. Some are so drunk that a male driver could do something and she probably wouldnt remember. If these women who got raped had a female than the rape would've never happened. Young women tell me all the time some of their male drivers hit on them some are just creepy make them feel uncomfortable. One young woman said her driver bought her cigs alcohol, and tried to kiss her after ride was over. Women tend not to be criminals, rapist, etc. I would think they wouldnt be hitting on male passengers to the point that the msle rider is uncomfortable. Unfortunately these women who have had these issues dont report driver because they are afraid he will come back to their house.

Lilly, Can you please clarify or correct me if I am wrong as I dont want to be giving my riders wrong info. If you schedule a ride more than 60 min. in advance your fare is locked in. If you schedule a ride in less than 60 min. in advance Uber gives you an estimate. Then when you are matched with a driver fare could increase if there is a surge in your area. Thank you.

Uber and Lyft base fares on the longest route to riders destination (time & miles). Most Drivers take the shortest route. Driver is paid for the miles they drove & the amt. of time it took. I arrive at riders destination switch off GPS & go back to Uber or Lyft app. It will say 5 to 15 min until destination. I do the speed limit, I use WAZE app, my car doesn't fly, and its not an amphibious car. Passenger got charged for that 5 to 15 min even though it didnt take that long and they get charged for the miles I didnt travel. This is why drivers are complaining. Uber and Lyft are making a few dollars less than us or the same amount. Nothing we can do as we agreed to be pd per mile and time. Upfront pricing scam. What sucks is riders think we are getting 75%/80% of the fare so they may not be tipping for that reason. Especially on long trips that are 50.00 to 150.00. I am driving for Uber as I text this. When I have some free time later today I will post some screen shots so passengers can see whats going on. O will also screen shot my next trip that says we have X amt of time until destination when we are all ready there.
Thats's awesome. Doesn't that feel great when someone does something like that. Obviously you made their night for whatever reason. People just dont tip like that just because you drove from point a to point b. Something you said or did or just your personality made them feel good for them to want to give you a tip that big. There are some decent kind people out there.
I am in Nursing School got done a long day. Had a big exam on Monday that would decide if I could continue to next level. I was exhausted really needed to sleep because I would be up the rest of the weekend studying. Had 2 rides made 20.00. Had a pick up at local bar. Picked up husband & wife 7 min trip home they didnt seem drunk. Wife got out husbamd handed me $. I assumed 2 1.00 bills. Chucked it in consol. Went to get a coffee as I go to hand girl the 2.00 it was a 1.00 bill and a 100.00 bill. I was shocked. Dudnt know what to do. They only lived 7 min from my house so I went back to their house and put a note in their mailbox saying it was their Uber driver from the night before and I was concerned that they may have mistakenly given me 100.00 bill instead of a 1.00 dollar. I greatly appreciate it but wouldnt want to keep it if it was given by mistake. I would be happy to return it if that was the case as that was a lot of $ and left my phone number. I did go home after my next ride praying it wasnt a mistake. I needed the money but was too tired and was hoping I didnt hear back from them. I never heard from them. I'll never know if it was mistake and were too embarassed to ask for it or if they gave it to me willingly. All I know is I got to bed, studied the rest of the weekend, passed my final, and made it to the next level of my Nursing class thanks to them. Man upstairs was looking out for me. Dont think thst will ever happen again. 😊 But.... you never know maybe when the harvest moon is out again, the tides are high and the lunar cycle sync up we will see some nice big tips. Thanks for sharing your story. Its nice to hear stories about kind decent people doing things like that. Hopefully one day I can return the favor to someone who msy be in need. Pay it forward!!! Wes, thought I would share this with you. After I posted last comment I got a request Uber X scheduled ride to Casino long pick up fee possible. Decided since I had to pick up at Casino I would gamble. Lol I was bored not much else going on. Uber gave me .79 for long pick up fee lol. Got there no one came out. Cancel fee popped up. Normally would've taken it & went on my way. I decided to wait nothing better to do. Finally rider comes out with his friend. All chaos breaks out as soon as I start trip. Not in a bad way. The 2 of them were funny but a mess, pleasantly buzzed. They want alcohol. We head to a take out beer place then a 7 11. They offered me a beer and whatever I wanted at 7 11 I declined on both. We got on our way. I asked if they were ok with the turnpike more chaos as they didnt understand we were still in PA but in Bucks County PA. Got on TP then things were calm. They were 2 firemen from NY had a meeting in NJ & were staying at a hotel in NJ. Anyway the one said dont worry we will tip I know its a long trip. Had a great conversation they were super nice and funny. From accepting trip to drop off 55 min. Took me 25 to get home. Uber paid me 37.77. Rider tipped me 65.00. I took a gamble and it paid off for once. Not bad for for 80 min. So next year look for "the harvest moon". Lol
When I first started driving I wasnt aware we couldnt drive kids under 18. Thankfully I didnt drive more than a few and nothing ever happened. I have had a few riders recently that looked under 18. I asked how old they were they said 18 and offered ID. It's not always going to be that easy. This shouldnt be a drivers responsibility. If the person is over 18 but a driver isnt sure and asks for ID I can gurantee we will end up pissing someone off. Which means we are going to be rated with 1 star. What if the rider is under 18 but has a fake ID how are we to know its fake? I've seen some fake ID's I wouldnt know the difference. It's Uber's app this should be Uber's responsibility.
Chris, I know they are out there. I just dont think it's right. I live a few blocks from a bar where this elderly woman striiped totally naked and sat on the bench in front of bar. Probably has dementia or some other mental illness. Some young guy passing by took a pic put it on FB of course went viral. I notified FB and requested it be taken down. The bar took it and blew the pic up and put a caption on it and put it up in bar. They did blur her face out. Damage all ready done everyone in neighborhood seen the original. I think it's so wrong on many levels. It just sucks that people post this stuff. People with dementia or other illness are not in their right mind. Suppose someone did that to their family member. It's awful what some people post for a like or a laugh.
They are absolutely one of the most dishonest company ever. They lie cheat, and steal from the drivers and riders. It would be great if the drivers would all refuse to drive on a few busy nights and then have the riders not request rides at all on a few nights. Unfortunately we all cant do that because we need the money and riders dont seem to care. As long as riders get a cheaper ride than a taxi they are happy. Most Riders are not concerned about the drivers being ripped off. I had another ride Uber X a few nights ago that Uber only made .39 less than I did.
I still have not got an answer back. My question about the booking fee "had to go to another team that was better at answering my question". The booking fees are still different on the rides I get. There is no pattern it seems random. I live in Philly right outside Bucks County so I get trips both in Philly and outside the city. I checked to see if the rides with higher booking fee are the ones outside the city but thats not the case either. Dara is no better than Travis! Dara puts these commercials out (obviously paying a fortune for them) saying Uber is making things better and easier just more lies and wasting more money that could go to drivers. The new drivers app (more $ wasted) is no better than the last one. There is no way drivers helped with that app. What drivers would've agreed to the new surge? The promotions they offer are unobtainable unless you are out there driving 12hrs per day. Pool and express pool are awful. I just read an article where Dara wants to eventually increase the amount of pool/express rides. Of course that makes Uber more $ but not the driver. Thankfully I only need to drive until I am done Nursing School. There are drivers out there who leased or bought cars to drive full time, its their only way to support themselves and their families. Uber will never change on their own. Someone needs to step up and do something about them. Thanks for responding.
When I started Nursing School I needed a job with flexibility. I decided to drive for Uber. The higher ups at Uber are truly disgusting, dishonest people. They have no respect nor do the care about the drivers.
When I started driving I was very nervous and afraid. That quickly changed. Although I still get nervous once in awhile. I've met people from all over the US. I dont base my opinion of the riders on how much they tip. Yes there are times you go out of your way for a rider and yes most definately they should tip. It would be great if all riders tipped but in my opinion not tipping doesnt make them horrible human beings. I've had the privilege of riding with kind, considerate people. Some going through terrible tragedies, others who were so positive and sweet they just made you night. Others who were just fun and easy going that the trip was an absolute pleasure. I've had some sweet notes riders left for me in the app. I just wish I knew who they were from. Some I can figure out others I dont have a clue. It would be nice if drivers could do this for riders. It would also be nice if there was a way to send rider a quick thank you for tipping you in the app. There are some riders that are just ignorant, rude, mean people that I wish I never had to deal with. Others have no manners, no morals, and are down right aholes. I can say most of my riders have been decent people

I understand this was your 1st ride, were unsure what to do, and driver didnt speak English but you could've canceled ride and ordered another Uber. If you got charged a cancel fee you would just send message to Uber and they wouldve gave you a credit.
I would not give her 5 stars as she put you all in danger, she isnt supposed to have her child with her, and she shouldn't of had those car seats taking up rider seats. It's great she has car seats for riders but she needs to move them when older people who dont need them get in. There are several issues here. I would give 2 stars as some of this is your fault for getting in there and taking that ride. I get it was awkward, your first time, and she didnt speak English but safety first. Maybe she doesnt understand Uber rules but its her responsibility to find out what they are before she started driving. I would report to Uber though, just wrong on so many levels.
Thank you Wes for commenting. I just dont feel comfortable putting a sign or box in my car. I see videos, post, etc... of drivers saying they do it snd it helps. I just cant bring myself to do it. If it was making a big difference for everyone who used it I guess I would try and convince myself to go for it. As of now just cant do it lol. Was just curious what others thought. Thanks again. I picked up 2 30 something men Saturday night at a bar. Joe and Jack were feeling no pain Jay was trashed. (Names were changed to protect the innocent and not so innocent). Jay says did you bang (fk) (some words were changed) Jill last night? Joe is trying to ignore him but he keeps asking. Joe finally answers to shut him up. So Jay says I have to tell you the story of Joe's last bday. Jack says, "Oh no here we go again, I am apologizing now". Here is the story told by Jay, his words not mine. We go to Chinatown to meet up with some hookers. They make us all strip naked and take a shower together before they would touch our d's. I am not gay or anything but I have a small d & I'm 6'1, Jack has a medium d he is 6', but I have to tell you my man sitting next you has the biggest d I ever saw. I dont get it he is only 5'8. I am not gay or anything but I had to stare at it. If he took off his clothes now I would stare at it I'm not gay but its the biggest f ing d i ever saw, I am f ing amazed. I asked the hookers if they ever seen a d that big? I was wondering if he had a rubbers for a d that big. I was thinking maybe they would have to put saran wrap on his d. I just couldnt stop staring at it and I am not gay. (Real serious he says)Hey if you want you can come into club with us I'm sure Joe wouldnt mind showing you his big d. Drunk Jay was still going on about the big D, not being gay, and me going in club to see the big f ing d as they were getting out of car. I dont think Jay will be picking up women anytime soon telling this story. Although I think he is secretly in love with Joe's big f ing d. Lol I have 3 boys, 2 brothers, and 6 nephews nothing shocks me especially driving for Uber. There wasn't much I could do but laugh. The funniest part was he actually sounded so sincere and serious while telling this story. Never came to his drunk mind that this really wasnt something to be telling your 53 yr old female Uber driver. Other 2 were embarrased and apologized multiple times and left me a nice $20 tip. If I had a 1.00 for everytime he said D##k, f ing, and I'm not gay I could've cashed out and went home for the night.
Too many drivers out there between Uber/Lyft. They need to do what New York did and put freeze on hiring or do better background check not a 3rd party. A real background check fbi/fingerprint that would weed out the criminals, DUI's, etc... The lawsuits would stop, bad press would stop. It would get rid of all those drivers with criminal past plus it would prevent new criminals from being hired. Get rid of the criminals the remaining drivers would get more rides. At any given time in my area when I open rider app there are 8 cars shown in a 2 mile radius ( that shows the area is saturated with drivers). When I started 15 months ago I was getting rides one after another on weekends. Weeknights were slower but not like they are now. On Holidays are usually busy I've waited 45 min or longer for a ride request. Weeknights now are same way. A handful of drivers quit today but there are 50 drivers or more signing up to drive tomorrow.
I am not sure if I should take this question seriously or I am misunderstanding the question? What else could they give us for driving along with the money? Is that what you are asking? I would think the only reason anyone drives is to make money. More achievable promotions, increase in the fares, bonus for drivers who consistantly maintain a high rating. It would also be great if they gave the drivers respect, honesty, and trust. Sorry if I didnt answer question correctly.
They can and should tip drivers especially for really short or long trips. Be courteous and respectful. We are not your personal driver. We drive you from point a to point b safely, our car is clean, if we are not rude please give 5 stars. As a driver I dont pick you up with the intention of making you miserable I cant control roads being closed, traffic, that my air freshner isnt a scent you like, GPS being wrong, or Uber app going crazy at times. Drivers cannot read your mind. Not everybody's personalities mesh. Is it really worth someone losing their job? Really think about what you are doing when rating your driver. If your job was dependent on stars would you still have a job? Everybody has an off day and you never know what someone is going through. Just be reasonable. Dont make your driver wait. If somerhing unexpected happens text or call your driver. Its common courtesy. When you make us wait you may cost us a ride which means money. Dont bring open containers of alcohol, a child without a carseat, or expect is to drive 5 people when we have 4 seats/seatbelts.
Beware:
Drivers who tell you they need cash from you for tolls. Yes have plenty of riders tell me this happens.
Make sure the car, profile pic, and tag match what it says in your app. If it doesn't DO NOT GET IN CAR
Ladies: Dont pass out in an Uber especially with male driver. Yes my young riders tell me they do this.
Always be aware of your surroundings.
Dont order Uber express pool late at night. Dropping you off on a street corner at 2am isnt a great idea. As a driver I cannot do it. I dont mind driving the extra block but some drivers will because it was your choice.
I dont trust Uber at all. Probably taking more & hope we dont notice. I still didnt receive an answer back from 'the team that could answer". It happened all weekend. I drive in Philadelphia and Bucks County. Some trips are 2.00 others are 2.20 no pattern.
Had another trip over weekend (Uber X) Uber got 49% of fare I got 51%. I havent had the chance to question that yet. I am sure they will send a scripted answer sent by a computer with a persons name so I think someone real addressed my question. I so cant wait for the day I no longer need to drive for these idiots.
I had 2 people that are fequent passengers of mine I asked them if they did anything different. They said they request like any other time. I checked to see if ot's on surged rides, their is no pattern. Going to send Uber another message. I've never had a response like I got last night. Now that they are aware I noticed it curious to see if it continues.

I found it by accident just have to remember how i got to it. I think it was on my payment statement at the bottom. It wasnt on driver app. Had to log in on the regular uber app. I am driving right now but if no one post how to find it or you still cant find it I will post later on.
